Kinda sucks

Very disappointed in the product for the price. I had a Dyson purifier fan already and received this heat cool as a gift. Love the warm air it puts out. But I need a fan running as well a heater. This thing only does one or the other at the same time. Why can’t they make a fan that heats when needed. I was hoping at this price point the heat would come on when needed but the fan would blow all the time. No! Very disappointed that I have to ruin a fan along with this unit at night. So it takes two Dysons to do the job. Sucks

Good machine, but UL 1278 ruins it

I recently added solar to my roof, and I thought this machine would be a good way to leverage renewable energy for heating my home in the winter. Unfortunately, the UL regulators made doing that much more difficult than necessary.
1. The app does not display the set temp for the heater. Neither does the remote. The only way to see what the temp the machine is set for is to get up, walk over to the machine, stoop down, and read it from the on-machine display. If the machine is oscillating, you have to wait until the display is facing you. And sometimes you even have to scroll through the displays on the machine to get to the one that displays the set temp.
2. Turning the machine on via the app turns heat mode off.
3. Using the 'schedule' function, which is only available via the app, also turns heat mode off, which makes the schedule function useless.
4. Changing the airflow direction using the app also turns off heat mode.
If UL had it's way, matches would be illegal (because they can start a house fire), and knives would be illegal (because they can be used to hurt someone)
Come on Dyson, at least fix #1. PLEASE!!

We at Dyson take safety very seriously when developing new technology for our customers, and we want to ensure that safeguards are built into our products to minimize hazards and risk to our customers. Since the control of products over the internet is still new technology to regulators, in the US now, products contain more stringent requirements until a better understanding of all risks is understood. This is why the heating and temperature controls have been disabled via the Dyson Link app, at this time. We are certainly sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused for you. The heating, as well as all other functions can still be carried out via remote control. While unfortunate, we do have to comply as this is a federal regulation.

Dyson takes feedback from our owners seriously, as we understand that the comments we receive from our customers help us continue to move forward and create technology that makes sense. When designing technology, we are conscious to make sure that our products interact most efficiently for and with our customers. Although we're not able to guarantee satisfaction of all our customers, we have made provisions that allow a customer to return a product within 30 days of receipt, if ordered directly from Dyson. If you've made the purchase elsewhere, we'd recommend checking with that retailer's return policy to see if you're eligible for a return.

Takes a bit longer to heat the room, noisy when heater is on. Takes long enough to cool the room. I don't see it being effective enough in filtering the air.

Awesome for recreational

We have a nice big great room where we tend to watch movies. Before each movie we definitely partake in recreational. It performs great during the session and makes sure the air is purified afterwards. This is our 2nd one purchased so far and I feel like every room needs one!
The only drawback is that the heat is exclusively controlled by the remote only. The phone app control is clutch, but you can only turn heat off and not the other way around.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good for a small room

Really good for a small room however, the room I bought it for it just doesn’t have much of an impact. Nice interface using the phone regrettably there are limitations on turning up the heat via mobile you must use the remote control however, that is not a Dyson issue that is a legal requirement.

Decreased Asthma Symptoms

I have been using this purifier for about a year and it has made a significant difference in my asthma. I used to take two different medications a day and now I rarely need them. It has also helped with keeping my bedroom air healthy from all the smokey days from wild fires here in the Pacific Northwest.
I would recommend this to a friend!
