I had never owned a Brother printer and hesitated to purchase one because of having to periodically buy a separate drum but have discovered it is well worth the added (rare) expense. I am a writer and consequently need to print out large draft copies - this printer has proven itself to be reliable, produce quality copies, and be cost-effective.

Easy to Operate and Works Fine

I went to working full time at home and wanted to update from an inkjet printer. This brand was recommended by a friend and fairly priced and reliable. It was easy to order, arrived in time, was easy to set up, and it works fine. I feel I have the same convenience to get good copies quickly as I did at the office. I am glad that I chose this model.

Great printer, only problem is it prints on the opposite side of the page. I would have to reorder my checks to be numbered differently.

Perfect, fast 2-sided printing, easy Wi-Fi setup.

This is our second Brother laser printer. The first one is still functioning, but after many years of serving up perfect correspondence, spreadsheets, drawings, and tables, it was time to move up to a model that could more easily do two-sided text and graphics. The wireless feature practically set itself up when the software was downloaded from the Brother website. Now, the printer can be located anywhere in the house that our Wi-Fi reaches, and we can share it.
Remember the days when dot matrix printers roared across the pages, making lots of noise and occasionally needing a new ribbon? Welcome to the twenty first century! Now we hear just the sound of the paper moving past the drum, and toner cartridges are much easier to change than ribbons were.

Solid little printer

Just replaced my HP Laserjet 6MP with this and am very happy with it. Print quality good and fast.
I also own another Brother printer, and have never been able to set either up for wireless using their set up wizard. I've always had to do it manually through the printer's control panel.

I do wish it allowed printing more than one sheet at a time through the front load paper insert. It grabs all the sheets and feeds them through. My ancient HP did this well. If you want to print multiples (like checks), you must use the bottom paper tray.

I've been using computers for over 30 years. I started with dot matrix printers and graduated to laser. My brother B/W printer has been the best, most reliable printer I've ever owned. A please to use.
