Makes a mess out of envelopes

So far this printer has been just OK. I purchased it to specifically print checks and envelopes, I have other printers for larger tasks. It does a good job printing checks, but when the envelopes pass through the manual feed in front or even the tray, they have wrinkles pressed into them, and I'm not too happy with how they look.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

will burn lots of your time

Garbage. Constantly has to be restarted in order to communicate with my Mac. Can print a document then 20 minutes later it is unavailable. Turning off Deep Sleep did nothing to help. Never had problems with Brother in the past, but obviously something has changed. Threw it in the trash!

Looking for a low-cost basic laser printer?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. This is a low cost, fast printing basic laser printer that offers automatic duplexing (where you can print both sides of each page). It can handle 250 pages of paper capacity and prints up to 32 pages per minute, so it`s reasonably fast. It easily connects to all your devices, so you can print wirelessly from your desktop, laptop, smartphone or other device which is very convenient. It also has a USB port as well, if you need.Has a toner save mode which helps you toner last longer so you don`t have to replace it as often. It should last about 700 pages. The print quality is good.It`s not the lightest unit to carry around in comparison to my inkjet, but then again, it will stay stationary so that`s not an issue.It also has a deep sleep mode which essentially turns the unit off, and your wireless devices may not find it while it`s sleeping so you have to turn the unit off and then on again to restart, but all in all you can`t complain about the price.Bottom line, If you`re looking for a low-cost basic laser printer, this is a good one.

Good printer. Wifi advice was bad.

Printer is fine, but the wifi setup directions are deficient. Took several calls to realize that the iv6 setting had to be turned on. The printer kept going into deep sleep and had to be rebooted numerous times to reconnect to wifi. Several discussions with Brother consultants led nowhere, including the comment that here was no solution. I was about to return the printer when I realized that the IP address was floating and had to be set as a static IP address. I did that and it is now working fine. So now I can live with this printer, but am annoyed that the directions and support provided by Brother caused me a month of frustration.

Great Printer

I haven’t owned a Brother product for years, but glad I chose this one! I was tired of having to frequently change ink cartridges in my old printer. This one is fast, sleek, and economical. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a new dependable printer. It was easy to set up and works like a dream.

Compact and easy to use

This printer is super simple to set up and get going. The machine comes with a CD for the software, so if you are an up to date Mac owner and don`t have a disc drive, you`ll need to download the installation software from the Brother website. It would be helpful if the literature said that. But I am not technically savvy and got this printer up and running in about ten minutes. The machine itself is compact enough to fit on a desk and light enough to move around. It prints well and the wireless component is key for lap top users like myself.
I would recommend this to a friend!

High Quality Printer in a Compact Size

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. After opening the packaging I was surprised by how compact and lightweight the printer was; however some of the plastic components didn`t feel that sturdy and when opening some of the slots I was a little concerned I might break them off. The Easy Instruction guide was very useful to get the printer set up and up and running. The compact size lent itself to a wide range of placement options. I ended up being able to set it up in a closet to make printing easier from that location rather than having to walk to the office printer. The WiFi setup was very easy to setup and is a critical feature as I wanted to set up the printer as a wireless device. After printing the test page I was a little concerned about the darkness of the print quality but that went away after printing several more jobs after the initial test page. I was very pleased by the speed and quality of the print jobs and the reliability of the printer on the wifi network. All in all this seems to be a great printer for a reasonable price. I hopeful that the durability won`t be a problem as after placement the printer is rarely going to be handled physically.
I would recommend this to a friend!
