High Quality Printing at Low Cost!

This printer has performed flawlessly. It is fast and produces high quality output time after time. No more clogged print heads or expensive ink cartridges to buy. I’m still using the toner cartridge it came with. I have it connected as a network printer in our home and we use it from our iPads, iPhones and desktop computers on a regular basis. Most of what we print didn’t require color so that was the one downside of our decision to purchase a laser monochrome printer but we have been very happy with our decision .

envelopes

The printer is pretty good overall. It does not print envelopes very well and comes out all wrinkled. I can't figure out how to make the envelopes "neat."

Defective product

After one week, the printer required a new cartridge. I bought two and neither worked. I returned the printer and did not receive compensation. Life is too short to argue, but useful for a purchaser to know the risks.

Stated page yields for genuine Brother cartridges are based on the ISO testing standards. The number of pages that can be printed with a cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content (graphics, charts, etc.). Print jobs with large text fonts, graphics, charts, and/or large amount of solid coverage (black or any given color) will use much more toner and will shorten the life of the toner cartridge.

Very Good Basics

For basic operation as a printer, this works very well and is easy to maintain. Firmware updates and software updates are very easy to install and I like the monitoring feature that allows me to see how much toner is left.

Very convenient - works as advertised

This printer connected easily to WiFi and prints quickly and cleanly. I only have two issues: the password on the back was very unclear, and I'm already getting "low toner" messages that seem way too soon, based on the few pages we have printed. It may be a faulty message - we'll see.
