Terrific Compact Laser Printer

A terrific compact monochrome laser printer for home and home office use and a great value for the price. The only drawback is that it will sometimes go "too soundly" to sleep and not "wake up" on receiving a print command wirelessly from your computer or cellphone. Instructions to deal with this issue are available on the web. I have two of these printers in the house, so it isn't a major drawback.

Not impressed with the printer. The print fades within a paragraph and I have to reset the parameters of the print frequently. Most of the time it doesn't do any good. So it is only good as a draft document printer not a final.

Decent Printer, Better Tech Help

Works well for the most part, though it ran through the first drum of toner very quickly. Then, when I replaced the drum, the printer window kept flashing "Replace toner cartridge," even though I had done so. This was annoying, and cost me about an hour from my workday, and the need to make contact with a tech helper via chat, before I was back up and working again. To Brother's credit, once I engaged with the tech help, it did not take them long to iron things out.

Great printer

I have found Brother printers to be fast and reliable. Laser cartridges are certainly more reliable and last much longer than ink jets. The only downside is that the laser printers create a power surge when they start up. The printer is not connected to my battery backup, but when the printer wakes up, the battery backup thinks the power has failed and goes to battery power for a second. With the battery backup, I can live with it.
