Superior Little Printer

I bought this to replace my previous Brother laser printer, which finally gave up the ghost after many (10+) years. I've had this new printer for several months and it is a great little machine. It's compact, quiet, fast and I particularly like the dual side printing. The only reason(s) for a 4 star vs 5 star rating is the location of the control panel - a very small display on the upper left top of the machine; if you have the machine located anywhere other than at eye level it is almost impossible to see. Because this machine is also wireless, allowing you to put it anywhere, I like to put mine on the bottom shelf in my office where it is out of the way. So if I need to see the display panel, I have to pull the printer out. I also had a bit of difficulty getting the wireless function to work (which is the reason I purchased this model rather than a less expensive one that did not offer wireless). That could very well have been a problem on my part rather than with the printer; luckily I have a tech savvy son who was able to get that function up and running. Even he had a bit of a hard time doing it, though, as you have to scroll through the tiny display screen to enter wifi network information. Other than the initial set up snafu, it has worked superbly since then, allowing me to print from my chromebook, iPad, iPhone and desktop. Very pleased!

This printer is wonderful. Easy to use and prints perfectly every time. Although it does not print in color that does not matter. I am recommending this printer to everyone! It was recommended on Wirecutter and that is how I learned about the product.

I love this printer just like the other Brother printers I have had! You have the best customer service!! It didn't matter if the printer is obsolete or not, when I call, you help, unlike competitors who want you to spend a boat load of money to buy a new one right away. You have me for life! Thank you!

In the context of teleworking, I had to buy a reliable, but not very expensive printer.
I had never tried this brand before, but I am delighted I did now; it was very easy to set up and the quality of printing is very good.
