It's only been a couple months but the few times I need to print, I turn on and quick it is to produce a clean black page. If it's like this a year or so from now, 5 stars. Operation is good. Don't want to jinx anything but other printers have paled in comparison (you get what you pay for).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Goes to sleep and will not wake up

It goes to sleep and cannot be awoken. Many others appear to have this problem. You go to print something and it errors out. The panel on the printer says, "Sleeping" and after trying many suggested solutions, it still does not work. I end up having to go to the app on a computer and use that wizard to print. Then, it will work as it should for a while and fail again - typically when it is very important and urgent.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello, I understand your printer is going into a deep sleep mode. Depending on how long the machine is deep sleep mode, the machine will go into power off mode automictically. The machine does not go into Power Off Mode when the machine is connected to a network. All Mac household. Took five (5) minutes to set it up. Love the duplex printing capability. Had it for a few months, consistently reliable and accurate prints. A+

Awesome upgrade!

We had an older Brother monochrome laser printer that lasted us about ten years (so old I can't even remember the model number). It was a great printer and, so far, this printer is just as great with even better features! I love being able to print over wifi without using a print server. Even more, I love being able to remotely manage and monitor the printer in so many ways. This is an awesome upgrade from our last model. Quality printer and quality print jobs!

cheap price? run away

This printer might be good but i only got 283 pages out of the $50 toner cartridge.
I might be an idiot because I bought two of these printers.
The cartridge runs out way too soon, wish I had bought something else.

Coming from multiple ink jet printers I've been really impressed with this laser printer by Brother. It connects quickly via WI-FI, it runs pretty quiet and seems to be way more efficient than other printers I've owned. I would recommend this printer to a friend without hesitation.
