Hood & Extension

The hood itself works well. Here are our issues.
1. The fan auto off button does not work. Supposed to hold 2 seconds for it to shut off.
2. We have 10 foot ceiling so an extension for the vent was required. The issue is the extension and hood colors do not match. We tried numerous replacements and even tried a black slate unit but still colors do not match. This is a big issue and huge disappointment.

Always wanted this type of vent hod. Love it lighting is great and the hood itself works fantastic usually use low or medium speed. Lighting is perfect for our new gas cooktop

I want to love it but the rattle and noise

I was excited to get this in my new kitchen and once the electric was connected I was sad. The rattle and noise is horrible. I have a video but can’t upload it. We followed all the instructions.

Will fourth time be the charm?

Hood 1: Opened it up, it was severely blemished, straight out of the box. We’re talking seriously ugly. Factory problem. Appliance store said “no problem”, we’ll replace it.
Hood 2: Looked great out of the box. Looked great on the wall. Turned it on—it makes a terrible high-pitched chirping sound you can hear from a long distance. Called for service. Service tech said “need to replace the motor”, or since it’s brand new, appliance store said you can order another one. Ok.
Hood 3: another one blemished straight out of the box. What on earth is going on in this factory? Do they have no quality control?
So the saga continues...we are waiting on unit 4. Very frustrating.
On the plus side, the one I have now looks nice, and it seems to function fine without excessive fan noise (other than the aforementioned high-pitched chirp). Lights do a good job illuminating the cooktop (though I would prefer LEDs to halogens).
My ratings are for unit 2, which is on my wall while I await unit 4.

I like the color and my other slate appliances (fridge and DW) were pristine.
