Make the switch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s very attractive. The components are easy to clean. You can regulate the amount of coffee you use and no more pods in the landfills. Nuff said.

Coffee tastes like rubber
on October 8, 2024
Posted by: Juan G.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having previously tried the 8-cup brewer; which made some of the best coffee i tried, i wanted to try the 9-cup coffee maker with the added functions it brings. Let me just say that i regret having purchased this 9-cup machine. Coffee tastes like rubber every time. I have washed it, descaled it, and no change. Coffee is nowhere as good as it was with the 8-cup. I hope Oxo can help figure this issue out. I was really excited and now disappointed with this machine.

The lid for the thermos

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The lid for the thermos has a rattling part and dribbles coffee. I asked for a replacement but have not heard back.

This is my 3d 9-cup
on September 19, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 3d 9-cup OXO. It's great to see you've made small engineering tweaks over the years that make a difference. Easier to screw lid on carafe. Less messy dripping when the pot is done. Cleaner pouring. Little stuff but good.

Short Cord
on September 10, 2024
Posted by: Cheryl
I had been interested in this coffee maker for a while. As soon as my old machine duwd, i bought it. I was so disappointed when it arrived because it had a very short cord. Much shorter than our current machine. We needed a coffee maker with a cord long enough so that we can fill it directly from the kitchen faucet. We didnt want to add an extension cord to our counter. Too bad

If you like the taste of dish soap, buy this coffee maker.

The Oxo 9-cup coffee maker has an internal mixing tube made of a hollow rubber tube that fits into a plastic lid. Unfortunately, both components are extremely difficult to clean and tend to accumulate a dark, soot-like residue. Simply rinsing them with hot water isn’t enough; you need to regularly scrub the mixing tube with a narrow tube brush that can fit inside the mixing tube. As for the lid, it’s virtually impossible to clean thoroughly— it's a breeding ground for mold.
It’s puzzling why coffee maker companies can’t design a product that’s free of hard-to-clean plastic and rubber parts. The worst part of all of this is that when you do clean these parts by letting them soak in dish detergent, then very thoroughly rinse them off, your coffee will taste like whatever detergent you used for the next week or so. This design flaw seriously detracts from the otherwise good performance of the coffee maker.

Good Coffee, but...
on August 6, 2024

I have had my OXO 9-cup for about eight months. I use it three or four times a week. The coffee is quite good but i think there is a design flaw. At the top of the carafe there is a tube with a hard plastic nipple attached that connects to the drip part of the machine. This nipple suddenly became detached. There is not way to pop it back on. In hindsight it seems this would happen lot given its location and the way it attached.
