[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm thrilled with my new Brother SE2000 Sewing and Embroidery Machine. I've never owned a machine this nice. It can do so much more than my old outdated machines. I have to say I have a lot to learn but I'm enjoying every minute. I'm 67 and retired and happy to have this beauty to start some projects. There are so many choices with different stitches and embroidery patterns to choose from. This machine makes sewing fun!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely adore this machine. As a first time embroiderer, I am pleased to say that this machine makes it quite simple to get started, there are many fun pre-loaded designs to choose from, and the stitches that it puts down are exquisite. The small but mighty machine does an excellent job with sewing many typical stitches, and the apparatus that is used for embroidery is easy to swap out. I am more than pleased with this machine!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow this sewing and embroidery machine really does it all. I am a very inexperienced sewer so using a machine with this much ability was very intimidating. As soon as I opened the box I was overwhelmed, to be honest, but the instructions were very clear and walked me through every step of the way. Setting the machine up wasn’t too complicated, it did take me some time since I’m inexperienced but I imagine someone who has had a fancy machine like this wouldn’t struggle. Sewing my first stitch was very fulfilling! I loved how easy it was. A lot of pros about the machine, ability to use foot pedal or button, connection to app/Wi-Fi for additional patterns, being able to embroider, and the ease of use! Like I mentioned, this machine is awesome and has so many great features. Worth it if you’re a passionate sewer. I can’t wait to start my first embroidery project!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got my hands on the Brother SE2000 embroidery machine and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed! When I opened the box, I was happy to see that Brother had included a printed manual and a quick-start guide. While online manuals are great, there's nothing like having a "real" one to refer to when you need it.
The machine comes with a complete Sewing Accessory Kit (bag included) and a Foot Set with 4 Bobbins (3 bobbins located in the sewing drawer and 1 in the machine). I also found an embroidery frame set, grid sheet set, power cord, and foot pedal. It was like opening a treasure chest!
Now, I have to be honest, the directions weren't the clearest. As I tried to figure out the first step, I ended up loading the bobbin. But, there was one big step that wasn't mentioned - you have to set your language on the LCD screen first. Once I figured that out, everything fell into place.
The automatic needle threader works like a charm, and the embroidery set is quite large, giving you ample space to embroider bigger projects like names, monograms, and images. And, the best part is that you don't have to remove the fabric and move it over like I used to do with my previous machine.
The machine has consistent speed control, is smooth and quiet, and produces nice even stitches. But, my absolute favorite feature is the automatic thread cutter. It's like magic! There are no continuous threads between designs, which makes everything look so clean.
One of the safety features that I loved was the ability to change the presser foot without having to turn off the machine. This is a huge plus for me because I always have trouble seeing when the light goes out.
The display is crisp and clear with bright colors, and it's easy to edit and view designs. And, setting up the WiFi was a breeze. I was able to connect my phone via the Artspira App, which allowed me to upload really neat designs to my machine.
It does take a bit of time to fully learn this machine, but it's worth it. The hands-free operation of the start/stop button is a huge time-saver once you have everything set up. And, watching the machine work is mesmerizing!
Overall, the Brother SE2000 is quiet, advanced, and provides hands-free embroidering. I would recommend this machine to anyone with a moderate amount of both sewing and technology experience because this machine combines the two.
I used this machine in two classes at International Quilt Festival in Houston. One used the embroidery and straight sewing settings. The other used free-motion quilting. The combination of price and features, plus a dealer in my hometown led me to purchase a classroom model. I received it in November and as a first-time machine embroiderer, proceeded to embroider Christmas gifts for 20 people by Christmas. I find a few menus a little long to use or needing more explanation. I have not found a good way to use purchased alphabets. It may exist, but I don't know. I've found the machine to be finicky on threads in certain positions. Overall it is a good machine.
Love the self threading needle, the auto-thread cut and adjustable speed control (no sore ankles from the foot pedal). I am frustrated with trying to convert my own designs for embroidery, I wish that was simpler.
