Could be great but chain pops off all the time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works good when the chain is on. If you make horizontal cuts, chain pops off. I've tried tight and looser chain settings and it doesn't matter, chain WILL pop off on horizontal cuts.
The worst part is once the chain pops, it contacts the main drive gear and deforms the kinks so it doesn't fit in bar. Complete garbage. I've filed down every bottom link to get it to fit bar and it works, until chain pops off again. Then it's back to square one.
If the chain, bar, and main gear all worked perfectly together, this would be a 4 star review. This unit cuts great for vertical cuts. It does not have an electrical brake and keeps turning one you let off trigger. Unless GW finds an answer to my chain pop issues, I'm going to send it back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for sharing your experience. New chains tend to stretch, and we recommend checking the chain tension frequently and tension as required. The chain is correctly tension when there is no sag on the underside of the guide bar and when the chain is snug but can be turned by hand without binding. A chain tension while warm may be too tight upon cooling. Check the "cold tension" before next use. Here is a video showing how to tension the chain (https://youtu.be/H9bYDwptiCk). Greatest chainsaw I have Ever used

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using chainsaw for over 40 years. I was reluctant to use a battery saw but finally thought why not try one. I am so glad I did - this one is powerful, it lasts a long time on one battery, and with second battery it can work all day cutting old dead tress on my protery.

Just what I needed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a year ago and have been using it for all the small jobs on my property. I mostly use it to cut smaller trees (12-24 diameter). It is relatively quiet and very intuitive to use. You couldn't go and cut trees all day in the woods with it given the battery life, but that's not what I use a chainsaw for anyway. I've never run out of battery while doing the smaller jobs I use it for. Also great to transport in a car.

I bought one a few months ago. It is fantastic,but I am unable to get replacement chains.
Pros: Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful

So far, so good. I haven't done a lot with it yet but the results so far are very good. Obviously, the electrics have no starting issues and there is no question about leaving it running or shutting it off. Performance with light to medium branch thickness has been very good. The unit is fairly light weight and easy to maneuver. Spare bars and chains are easy to find and bar oil use is reasonable. I am looking forward to more time with this product.

The Greenworks 80v chainsaw surpassed my expectations. It works like a hot knife through butter! I'm a 53 y/o female and was super excited to find out how easy this was to use, and how lightweight it is. I have the 80v mower and weed wacker, but this chainsaw is my new fave! All the products make yard work a lot easier, but the chainsaw has changed my storm cleanup. Thinking of tossing the axe thanks to this saw. I can now cut stuff up smaller to make it easier to haul, and it cuts my cleanup time in half. (Pun intended!) My property has mature trees on it and limbs fall throughout the year, so it's not something I dread doing anymore. Next up, LEAF BLOWER!
