This chainsaw was perfect for clean up after Hurricane Helene.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First I bought the mower, and then the weed trimmer. Not long after, hurricane Helene blew through leaving a trail of destruction. This chainsaw was the perfect tool for making quick work of this large Oak. It's been nice having no gas fumes.

Good design and easy to use. Well balanced. Sufficient power. Shoulder strap very helpful. So much simpler to use than a corded pole saw.

Replaces a gas saw with no loss of productivity.

The saw is powerful enough to cut larger logs and the battery lasts as long as a tank of gas does in a gas saw. Cut speed is very similar to a gas powered saw but much easier to use. Much less noise, no gas and oil to mix and no exhaust fumes to smell

Could be great but chain pops off all the time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works good when the chain is on. If you make horizontal cuts, chain pops off. I've tried tight and looser chain settings and it doesn't matter, chain WILL pop off on horizontal cuts.
The worst part is once the chain pops, it contacts the main drive gear and deforms the kinks so it doesn't fit in bar. Complete garbage. I've filed down every bottom link to get it to fit bar and it works, until chain pops off again. Then it's back to square one.
If the chain, bar, and main gear all worked perfectly together, this would be a 4 star review. This unit cuts great for vertical cuts. It does not have an electrical brake and keeps turning one you let off trigger. Unless GW finds an answer to my chain pop issues, I'm going to send it back.

Hello Stoked-on-spokes.
Thank you for sharing your experience. New chains tend to stretch, and we recommend checking the chain tension frequently and tension as required. The chain is correctly tension when there is no sag on the underside of the guide bar and when the chain is snug but can be turned by hand without binding. A chain tension while warm may be too tight upon cooling. Check the "cold tension" before next use. Here is a video showing how to tension the chain (https://youtu.be/H9bYDwptiCk). If you still are experiencing issues with the chain, we would be happy to see how we can help! Kindly visit our website and contact us directly through Live Chat or call 1-855-345-3934. We would like the opportunity to speak with you to see if we can find a solution.

great saw for desert conservation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The company i used to work for, and many of our federal agency partners, use this saw in the Desert Southwest. When doing habitat conservation, having an electric saw has significant benefits over gas: reduced noise = less disturbance and greater safety among crew; less risk of spills/contamination when working in areas with sensitive species, and the opportunity to have a solar-powered system.
More importantly, with the crazy daily 30-40deg F temperature swings in the desert, electric saws avoid lots of downtime that tend to happen with gas saws.
Pros: Convenient, Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Powerful

Just tried it for the first time, it works great! Cut through the base of a shrub with ease along with many limbs. I’m impressed... this is everything I was told and read about. For the average home owner this is a safe choice. I recommend purchasing a greenworks chainsaw.

Cuts well, but on the long and heavy side.

Cuts well, but I wish you could have the option of making the pole shorter by removing the center extension piece, as the saw is quite heavy to handle at its current length.

Better Than a Gas Powered Saw

This saw works great, just as good as a gas powered saw; maybe better. It is quiet (no need for ear plugs and you can easily communicate in a talking voice with helpers) and light. Very efficient; only use power when you need it. No loud saw sitting on idle while you position for your next cut. Battery lasts long. I cleared brush for 2 hours and I’m ready for a break before the battery is empty. Bar chain oil usage seems on par with a typical saw. Probably could use two full batteries before the oil is empty.
