[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Performance of unit was as expected and made the job much more efficient than the corded chainsaw we had used before. Only had to use one battery to get the job done.
Pros: Convenient, Durable, Effective
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you aren't planning on running a tree service, this chainsaw works great. Cuts through big logs and runs for a decent amount of time on a charge. You're not going to cut up an entire massive oak tree on a charge with it, but it'll get the job done eventually. I like not having to wear hearing protection while using it!
Pros: Cost-Saver, Quiet, Effective, Powerful
I would recommend this to a friend!

Definitely not as good as the smaller 18 inch 80 V

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love greenworks tools and batteries own about 20 or more including other versions of the chainsaw, such as the 18 inch 80 V, and the 24 V 12 inch. Unfortunately, the 20 inch saw is completely unacceptable, and simply does not operate properly with the typical 80 V batteries. First, it has an electronics added to it that no other saw has. This operates essentially as a governor constantly turning off your saw when it feels like the saw is working too hard. You then have to press the button restart it to continue cutting. This is not an issue with the 18” 80 V saw which has no such button and does not cut out. In addition, the 3.4 kW motor actually generates less usable power in practice than the 2.4 or 2.8kw? 18 inch saw it may be that the battery is underpowered for the higher motor but it simply just provides less performance on the 20 inch saw than the 18 inch saw so much less that it’s irritating and you can’t stand using it when you’ve used the other saw, therefore had to send this back. I’ve asked that they talked to the engineers to see if this is an undersized battery problem or a defective electronics problem with the new switch they added. Either way I don’t think anyone should buy the saw over the 18 inch you’re just paying more to get less and it doesn’t operate safely since it cuts out in the middle of a tree.
I will update my review if I hear from the engineers, and hopefully they will redesign the saw or identify a solution to make the saw work properly.

Hello Dgv11. Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback on the 20" 80V chainsaw. We appreciate your long-term use of Greenworks tools and batteries, and your insights are valuable. The 20" 80V model includes electronic protection designed to prevent overload and protect both the motor and battery. We understand that the frequent shutdowns requiring a manual restart can be frustrating, especially compared to the 18" 80V saw, which operates without this feature. Your observations about cutting performance and battery compatibility are important, and we recognize that the 20" saw may feel less powerful in certain conditions despite the higher motor rating. Your feedback has been shared with our engineering team for further review. If you ever have specific questions or concerns about our products, contact Greenworks via Live chat on our website (www.greenworkstools.com), call us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or refer to the FAQ ask section of the tool or ask us a question, anytime.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One year review. Used the heck out of it when I first got in. Worked great. Checked battery 6 months later still fully charged. 6 more months today it was still almost fully charged and worked like a champ. Love it compared to my old Pullon gas saw.
