Hello g m albert. Thank you for sharing you experience. We are sorry to hear you are not happy with the chain tension. New chains stretch. Be sure to check the chain tension often and tighten as needed. We would love to share with you how to adjust the chain tension, in the hopes it will better your experience. Always wear gloves when working with the bar and chain. When properly tensioned the chain should be snapped tight, this means when you pull the chain from the bottom of the bar, it should snap back into position. If the chain sags it is too loose. The clearance between the bar and chain when pulled should be no more than a few millimeters. If the chain can not be feely rotated by hand it is too tight. Loosing the chain cover by turning the chain cover knob counter-clockwise. Turn the chain tension screw behind the bar and chain clock-wise to increases the chain tension. Turn the chain tension counter clock-wise to decrease the chain tension. When the chain is at the correct tension retighten the chain cover knob. Here is a video showing the step by step process described above. https://youtu.be/rFsPTdG82nM?t=134 Should you have any further questions or warranty needs, contact us through Live Chat on www.greenworkstools.com or call Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline 1-855-345-3934. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought it combo a few ago. I've used both the hedge trimmer and the pole saw. They both did the job. The hedge trimmer went through the smaller stuff easily and the pole saw went through 4 inch limbs like butter. This was my first battery power lawn/outside tool anf will probably buy other battery power lawn tools.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this saw and the first day out I immediatly noticed several issues/quirks: 1. The chain. We spend more time the first 2 hours putting the chaing back on rather than cutting. We have the 12" chainsaw of which is AMAZING so we were excited for the pole saw...definityly NOT the same quality of saw. We work with chainsaws all the time and that chain just won't stay on no matter how tight we adjusted the tensioner...all the other saws worked great out of the box, but not this one!
2.The connections on the pole are not very strong and the spring button holding it together fell out and I lost it. The saw has a tendancy to twist when cutting making it hard to saw through items over your head. Also the saw it heavier that anticipated...about the same as a gas powered saw.
3.Starting seems to be tempermental....imaging your up on the ladder, reaching the 12-14 foot up ready to cut, so you pull the trigger and the saw won't start? Happend several times to the point of being annoying.
Maybe we dont a lemon...we will be contacting the customer service under the "warranty" to see if this maybe the case. We will update the review accordingly along the way.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Bonus68. Thank you for the detailed review. We are sorry to hear of the issues have experienced when using the 80V 10" pole saw. Here you will find a few operational tips in the hopes they provide a better user experience. When cutting a limb that is under tension be alert for spring back. When the tension in the wood fibers are released the spring loaded limb may strike the operator and/or throw the pole saw out of control. New chain tends to stretch; and it is recommend to check chain tension frequently. Chain tensioned while warm may be too tight upon cooling. Check the “cold tension” before next use. Follow instructions for lubricating, chain tensioning and changing accessories. Improperly tensioned or lubricated chain may either break or increase the chance for kickback.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have several Greenworks tools and have been very happy with them. Unfortunately, this tool is a disappointment. I used it for the first time today and it is very heavy and cumbersome to use. It is a fixed length and can't be shortened. Its 9 foot length makes it unwieldily to transport and to store. It really needs to be easier to collapse for storage. I really wish this tool used the same small motor and bar from the 24V hand held chain saw with the 6" bar. That would really improve the usability of this tool. I do not recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The saw end is a little heavier than I thought it would be, That being said, I am a female with not much upper body muscle, but I was able to use the saw for several hours. Seems to have good battery life. I would buy again and recommend to a friend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this primarily to get ready for hunting in the fall. I’m amazed how well the battery holds up. I get tired before the battery gets low! Cuts limbs and small trees with ease. One of my best purchases!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took this pole saw to a friend's house to trim an overgrown tree that threatened the neighbors fence. We were totally surprised how well it cut through the branches. Everyone kept asking me what brand it was.
