I bought this a couple days ago. It assembled very easily.
I can’t believe how easy it is to use, and how easily it cuts branches and the tree trunk!

Worked as Expected

Worked as I hoped it would. Chain oil and charge seemed to last long enough. Cut through even 2-3 inch branches pretty easily. Instruction manual was not very clear and I did a couple things wrong before I was able to figure out the diagrams and instructions.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for sharing your experience with the Greenworks 80V 10" Brushless Pole Saw! We are glad to hear that the unit performed well, handled 2–3 inch branches with ease, and provided great battery life and oil efficiency. We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding the instruction manual clarity and apologize for any confusion during setup.
To help ensure smooth operation moving forward, we recommend keeping a few quick tips in mind.
1. Always check that the chain tension is properly adjusted before each use to prevent slipping.
2. Keep the chain well-oiled using standard bar and chain oil, and avoid pressing down forcibly into cuts; letting the weight and speed of the saw do the cutting helps prevent thermal cutouts or stalling.
For clear, step-by-step assembly guides, chain tensioning demonstrations, and visual operating tutorials, we encourage you to check out the official Greenworks YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/greenworkstools). Should you ever need further guidance, assembly assistance, or product support, please reach out directly to our Greenworks Customer Success Team at 1-888-909-6757 or via our online support portal we are always happy to help.

Chain oil is leaking out of the cutting head somewhere when it is off. I will be calling warranty service soon.
The pole saw seems very heavy duty and cuts well.
Pros: Easy to Use, Powerful

Thank you for sharing your experience with the 80V Cordless 10" Brushless Pole Saw (SKU 1400202). We are glad to hear the unit is performing well and delivering strong cutting power. We are sorry to hear about the chain oil leaking when the unit is not in use. A small amount of residual oil around the bar and chain area can be normal after operation, but it should not continuously leak while stored. We recommend ensuring the oil cap is securely tightened and that the unit is stored upright to help minimize any seepage, slightly loosening the oil cap, and inspecting or replacing worn seals can often help. Since you are planning to contact warranty service, our team will be able to further inspect the unit and determine if there is an issue with the oil reservoir or seals. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools website, or by calling 1-888-909-6757. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and giving us the opportunity to assist.

The saw is so heavy and clumsy it is near useless.

The center section of the pole can NOT be removed. This means you must always cut with the whole length of the saw. This is awkward and difficult when cutting branches near the ground. The total weight of the saw makes this inability doubly difficult.

Response from greenworkstools.comBy GreenworksJuly 9, 2026
Thank you for your feedback. We understand how the overall length and weight of a pole saw can feel cumbersome, especially when working closer to the ground. The fixed center section is part of the design to maintain rigidity and proper shaft alignment at full extension, but we recognize that this can make certain cutting angles more challenging.
To help improve your experience, a few usage adjustments can make a noticeable difference. For lower branches, try chocking up on the pole by positioning your hands closer together toward the mid-section of the shaft, this shortens the effective reach and gives you better control. Keeping the saw head slightly angled (rather than fully extended straight out) can also reduce strain and improve balance. When possible, position yourself so the branch is more at shoulder height instead of near ground level, which allows the tool to work with gravity rather than against it. Using the included shoulder strap (if available) or adding a compatible strap can help distribute the weight more evenly and reduce fatigue during longer sessions. It is also important to let the saw do the work, avoid forcing cuts, and instead use light, steady pressure to maintain control and minimize user strain.
For tasks that involve frequent low or tight cuts, you may find a handheld chainsaw or a shorter tool more suitable alongside the pole saw for versatility. We appreciate your feedback and will share it with our team as we continue to evaluate design improvements. Excellent trimming/cutting tool

I ordered this a few weeks ago and am very impressed with both the hedge trimmer and pole saw functions. It cuts very, very well and is surprisingly efficient at using battery power. Pretty easy to reach what I need to cut, though it can be a little awkward when trying to reach horizontally across a hedge row or similar plants. No recoil at all.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Effective, Powerful

Good saw with no replacement blades
on May 22, 2026

This was a great saw however green works stop making the low profile sawblades for it. So I ended up having to buy another one one of the newer versions.
Response from greenworkstools.comBy GreenworksMay 23, 2026
Hello Jack357.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating it can be when replacement parts are difficult to find. For the 80V 10" Gen2 Pole Saw (SKU 1405802T), replacement chains are still available and use a standard spec: 10", 1/4" low-profile pitch, .050 gauge, and 58 drive links. Greenworks continues to offer compatible replacement chains for this model, and there are also third-party options (such as Oregon equivalents) that match these specifications and will fit properly.
If you are having trouble locating the correct part, we recommend confirming the chain specs listed on your bar or in your manual to ensure compatibility. Our support team is also available to help identify the correct replacement and provide current availability options. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, or by calling 1-888-909-6757.
