Solid printer, not as open as advertised

This is a solid turnkey printer that holds its own amongst the other low cost good quality, low effort multi-material bed slingers. Where I struggle to give it better than 3 stars comes in the form of its openness. Creality released a statement a little while back about how they were embracing open source, along with the dominant standards for 3D printer firmware and management, namely Klipper, Moonsail, and Fluidd. The problem is Creality has yet to release the source code, as is required by GPL licensing, for The Hi or K2 printers. In addition, they have inserted a lot of questionable proprietary customizations and put the effort on the community to adapt to those standards, such as interfacing with the CFS, Creality's filament database on the printer, and even the webcams. None of those use open or even published standards. So while you *technically* have root access, you can do almost nothing with it. While you *technically* can use the open fluid interface, you can't even see your webcam from the dashboard, and it doesn't support many normal statuses, like layer count, time remaining, or even accurate print progress.
The entire effort feels half-baked. I wish Creality would either fully embrace open source, as several of their competitors have, and they don't even have to publish any proprietary sources, such as for their CFS system, but could at least provide open APIs. Or just go completely closed source and stop pretending to care about the Open Source community so that those of us that *do* care about that will avoid their brand in the future.

Worst experience ever

I’ve had nothing but issues since I got this printer. The nozzle clogged after two prints. It had a stripped screw so it was really hard to remove the plastic cover. After I fixed the clog, now I keep getting an error message that the extruder is clogged.

Easy set up of the printer. Beautiful prints right out of the box.
The CFS system really needs better documentation. And since hooking it up, I get random print failures with no indication of what they are. Still working on that.

I've been using this for just over a week so far and I'm blown away at how easy it is to get everything set up and running! I've done multicolor prints, basic prints, high speed, regular speed, and this thing just works!

I've always run ender 3 and ender 3 pro till now. This new printer makes life alot easier once you figure out how the color system works. So much easier to run and faster.

Other than a few issues where the CFS has jammed (I was able to fix them, and haven't had problems since), the printer has worked beautifully.
