The capacity of the dryer is amazing. I was able to fit my king size comforter in and it came out dry. Very satisfied.

Easy to use

We recently upgraded from a 10 year old washer & dryer to this set. We had a tough time finding something that fit & that had features we wanted. Some washers on the market are either too basic or have so many options you're overwhelmed with trying to pick the right settings. The layout of the user-interface is very straight forward, it's very quiet, and it does a nice job cleaning clothes. The steam feature is especially nice when you don't want to iron.

I looked at several other dryer models, but I ultimately went back to GE because my last dryer was a GE and I was very satisfied with it.

I bought this dryer three months ago based on the stellar reviews, but after only two short weeks of use the sensor on the door stopped working correctly. Even when the door was closed properly the screen displayed a "door" error and the dryer would not work. Changing the load settings, opening and closing the door, unplugging the unit and plugging it back in, did not solve the issue. After setting up an appointment for a GE technician to look at the dryer, we had to wait a full week until the appointment. Once the technician was there, the dryer started to work again. Go figure. He tightened up all the screws although none were loose, and told me to use coconut oil on the latch that keeps the door closed although this machine had only been used for two weeks and the instructions do not mention use of coconut oil on the latch. The dryer worked fine for another couple weeks, and then started displaying the "door" error again. Sometimes it would work, sometimes not. It was at 50/50 gamble whether I would be able to dry my load after washing. I scheduled another GE technician and again the dryer was functioning while he was there. He believed our explanation and agreed that there must be an issue with the door sensor, and ordered a new computer for the machine. A week later, he installed the new computer. Three months after purchasing the dryer it is working fine with the new computer in it for about a month now. Although the dryer works really well and is easy to use, I have difficulty in recommending this product to others because of this issue and all of the frustration I went through so early on. It worries me that GE does not test their products thoroughly and let a machine with a defective computer be sold. That being said, I am glad we were still under the 1 year manufacturer's warranty and the issue came up and was addressed during that time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I could not ask for a better dryer

I purchased this dryer in August to replace my GE front load dryer that I purchased in 2005. The features and options are great and energy star qualified. If in the market for a dryer I would look into this one!!!

GE Dryer

I've had this dryer for a few months now and it looks and works great. I compared among several other brands and models before selecting this one. I just replaced my last GE washer and dryer after 29 years. They were still working great, just time to upgrade and wanted more energy efficiency.
