[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always wanted a stand mixer. I got a few weeks ago and have used it almost every day. I am eating healthier by making more low-carb foods from scratch. It is SO fast and easy. From cakes, muffins, meatloaf, bread to meringue— I love it!

My hand mixer died during my last batch of Christmas cookies & still had pies to make. I ran out & saw a good deal on this mixer & decided to treat myself. What a mistake. The plastic bowl cover to prevent flying debris didn’t fit the bowl. Was a busy time so I didn’t get too upset. Next .... while mixing some batter, I realized that the bowl has a concave bottom that all the flour packed itself into & didn’t get mixed in with the batter. That really upset me as it defeats the whole purpose of having a mixer. It should mix, especially at the cost. At clean up time I tried to remove the attachment and it is stuck in place and can’t be removed. I’ve have never in my life experienced this of a kitchen aid product and am greatly disappointed. I now have no desserts & no mixer!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love at first sight

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife love this mixer I bought in February for her. She had one that was 40 year it stopped working so in got her a new one. Love at first sight. I tried to fix her old one changed out the grease, gears were in great shape but the moter was just worn out.

Spend the money and get a better version

I have had nothing but trouble with this item since I purchased it about 4 years ago. Initially the bowl would just randomly pop off the base during mixing as it didn't seem to be able to tighten securely. I did contact kitchen aid and they replaced the piece that held the bowl and when the issue was still problematic they sent a replacement bowl. This did resolve this problem.
It doesn't seem to be reaching to the bottom, and I end up with leftover components on the bottom of the bowl.
The attachments have started chipping.
The cover piece where you can attach the pasta maker randomly pops off.
The lowest mix setting is too fast and will send flour flying.
And now, the top of the mixer is actually appearing to separate from the base. It jumps up and down while on even though I have it locked. The rod in the base even started to pop out. I managed to get it back in, and tried tightening the only screw I could see when the tilt head is lifted and this is still a problem.
My last kitchen aid lasted me 15 years so this has been a huge disappointment. I will be looking to get a better stand mixer at some point and never again bother with the artisan.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cannot do without it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I kept this boxed up until I moved into my new house. The first thing to get set up in the Kitchen was this mixer. It is used constantly doing everything from helping to make cakes to mixing dry ingredients for rubs.

Although the differences are subtle between my older and newer model (bowl size and design, color, speed), I absolutely love it!
