Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used a Kitchen Aid Mixer for 33 years & was very happy with it, but it is about worn out - most speeds don't work anymore. I was excited to buy this new one, since the bowl is bigger & it is supposed to have more power. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box is that the silver band on the motor head is installed crooked. (It could be a problem keeping clean.) I DO NOT like the fact that Kitchen Aid no longer puts the spring on the post. When running the mixer, it sounds clunky & I'm concerned about the motor wearing out soon because of so much play in the post & the part that goes up into the mixer head. When kneading dough, it sounds like the mixer is working harder than my old one that I made dough with for 33 years! My grandmother loved her kitchen aid, my mother loves hers & I loved my old one. But, I am disappointed with the new one.

Not Worth the Money

Got this mixer for Mother’s Day and a week later it wouldn’t turn on. Fast forward a month, I go to make banana bread and it turned on for about 2 minutes. What a waste of money.

Used 5 times stopped working

Got this as a gift brand new. I couldn't use it till 2 years after I had it since I didn't have space. Finally got to use it this month. Used it 5 times to make cookies. Never used it on a higher setting then 6. It just stopped working in the middle of me trying to make cookies.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

ISSUES!!

The top part moves and shakes so it seems to unlock itself and the whole machine shakes and the bowl moves and it comes off. I literally have to hold it down to make sure it just doesn’t come apart. I am not sure why this is happening? Did not expect this kind of issues with brand name like kitchen aid!!

Poor Broken Appliance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been wanting one of these kitchenaid stand mixers for years. Finally I received one. I was so excited to finally have one and couldn’t wait to use it and become the baker I am not.LOL. I registered my product, got it all cleaned up, read my instructions, and got it all up to use for the very first time. I couldn’t wait. So, as I start to use it, it was making a funny noise, Checked it, all good and started it again. This time a dark grey cloud of smoke started to out back from the back motor and burning smell. I quickly turned everything off and unplugged. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED to say the least, that this highly sought after and supposedly wonderful appliance of mine That came highly recommended was a flop and not what I was waiting for as it was burning up in my face.

Worked great but broke much faster than expected

These are supposed to be very durable, but my two-year-old mixer has started making terrible grinding noises and dramatically overheating - it's clearly about to die. I'm not even a heavy user - bread dough maybe twice a month and occasional egg whites or whipped cream. I would not have paid this much money for a premium stand mixer if I had known it would only last 2 years.

Difficult to use

Bought the extra paddle with side scraper, only to have it throw oil outside the bowl when added to eggs, on the stir setting.

Best Mixer Ever

There was never a doubt that we weren't going to get another KitchenAid. We still have several attachments and they are amazing. And my wife wanted this Blue, and she was right.
