Great sound poor design

Sounds is brilliant.
Ear pads are VERY thin and soft so your ears press against the inside. Extended wearing (>30 mins) just not possible.

Keeps randomly disconnect

When using head phones they keep randomly disconnecting from my phone.
Also the noise cancelling is weird. I have turned off all the software controlled for it so it is just on all the time but it still changes modes sometimes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Headphones

I received this present as a gift for my birthday (I requested for it :P) and is hands down the best headphones I have ever used. It's comfortable and connects seamlessly to 2 devices at the same time. I use these headphones for work calls (Teams) and the feedback I have received on the microphone is that it's clear and don't have any issues.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great features

I purchased headphones a few weeks ago and have been using them constantly they have awesome sound great features and noise cancellation and a really easy App to control all settings of headphones only downside is for some reason the headphones will turn themselves off and then you have to manually turn them back on again but only happens every once in awhile.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have upgraded from XM3's. XM5's are lighter, more comfortable and have better ANC. Some nice features also include auto pause when headphones are removed from the ears. I'm ok with them not being able to be folded but the engineers design for the cups to be twisted outwards when placed on the neck is not a good one. Also removal of airline jack will be an extra purchase should you wish to use the headphones during your travels

Sony have really nailed these. I own the xm2,xm3 and xm4 and every new generation seems to be a big improvement over previous generations. The guys in the sound department clearly aren't satisfied to sit back and keep doing the same even though the xm4 was excellent and still is. Somehow they managed to make the audio better, the noise cancelling better and the comfort better. The sound is beautiful and well rounded. The noise cancelling is next level and not just on planes and public transport even in a quiet situation you will probably need to be good at lip reading if someone is talking to you. I like the redesign, my hair doesn't get caught in the slide of the headband and the comfort is improved further. They've still managed to keep the price realistic for what you get and if you are on the fence don't be, you won't find anything better.

Best example I can give you is that the council was resurfacing the main road outside my window at 3am with trucks running and bobcats scraping the old surface off just after I receive my XM5 so I put them on with NC and... silence. Could not hear a thing.
Because I live in a noisy neighborhood they are primarily used for noise cancelling and they work perfectly for that purpose. Without exaggeration XM5 have save me almost getting arrested because of the disputes with noisy neighbors, now I just slide into silence by putting the XM5 on. Could not ask for better.
