I purchased this brand new, but the noise canceling turn itself off intermittently I will change this review if the Sony came with a solution.

Treated myself to over ear headphones after wearing Airpods for a few years. Previously I only used Beats on ear … these are far better than both the Beats and Apple (that i’ve tried). The comfort of wear, even after four hours is amazing, no needing to rest my ears or take breaks.
One small downside is that they seem quite large fitting wise; I may have an extremely small head but they feel comfortably loose even when headpiece is fully tightened… as in they have been well worn in, but they are brand new. Nervous that they will stretch and loosen over time, with no tightening adjustment left.

I've had these new headsets about 3 weeks & mostly wear them when working around the yard. THey replaced a Sony headset that was about 6 years old and still working well but I was concerned about the wear & tear on the earpads so shouted myself a new set. Big improvement over already very good sound & like the new noise cancelling.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The good: Incredible sound and noise cancelling ability. Great battery, fastcharging & comfort.
The bad: swipe controls for volume, skip track, etc are awkward & easy to make very annoying mistakes - why not make everything physical push button!?
Fold up flatter design cant be that hard to make, these take up a fair bit of bag space.
Not waterproof - I want to wear these in (just a little) rain, but it's too risky.
'Smudgy fingers' finish - surface looks like you've been eating greasy chips almost all the time!
Minor things in comparison to the sound... but hey if you make the best, why not go for perfection with these (not-difficult) improvements, and increase sales even more!

Failed to work

They were great when bought from store. Didn’t start after recharging even though went through all trouble shooting. Warranty service very unhelpful as won’t replace and insisted it needed to be returned to retailer which was at an airport far from where I live. Need much better after purchase support for the price you pay.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Outstanding Comfort, Incredible Sound, and Unmatched Noise Cancelling!
I've been using the Sony WH-1000XM5B headphones for a few weeks now, and I'm absolutely blown away. From the moment I first put them on, the comfort was exceptional—the lightweight, soft ear pads and well-balanced headband mean I can wear these headphones for hours without any fatigue.
The audio quality is superb. The clarity of vocals, punchy bass, and crisp trebles deliver an immersive sound experience, whether I’m listening to music, podcasts, or watching videos. The noise-cancelling technology is phenomenal, easily blocking out ambient noise—perfect for busy cafes, traveling, or working from home.
