Good mover, cut quality could be better

I bought this mower about 2 months. It's really lite and quiet. Batteries are great. My front yard is about 1900sqft, back yard is around 1500sqft and I usually have 2 green bars left. The only issue I've notice is the cut quality. I walk slow and there's always a good amount of uncut grass blades sticking up. So I have to make 2 passes to get a nice clean cut.
I hate to return it but it's taking me double the time to cut my lawn.

Hello There
For Best Results users should:
1) Mow when the grass is dry.
2) Mow in the morning or late afternoon to reduce the heat stress on the newly cut grass.
3) Alternate mowing patterns each time you mow. As grass develops a grain based on your cutting direction it will lean towards the direction of your mowing path. Changing the pattern allows better vertical growth and helps to keep the cut neater.
4) Consider mulching. In order to mulch, remove the bag and insert the mulch plug into the rear of the unit. This will leave the clippings on the lawn allowing the nutrients and nitrogen contained within them to return to the soil and allow the remaining grass to recycle them (always discharge the mulch towards a previously cut area to prevent your mower from bogging down).
5) Leave grass a little higher in shaded areas. This keeps them healthy in relatively nutrient poor conditions.
6) Always keep in mind what conditions your variety of grass prefers. If your grass prefers cooler climates, reduce the frequency with which you mow and increase the cutting height of your mower during hot seasons in order to compensate for the reduced growth rate these varieties may experience in this type of weather.

Battery Powered Convert!

I've now completed my third use of this lawn mower and I can state that I'm fully satisfied with this product. My yard isn't very large, so this was the right sized lawnmower as I was replacing a 21-inch gas engine mower that was on its last legs. I had been keeping up with the maintenance, but it was just getting old (8 years) and had begun spewing a bit too much exhaust. Walking behind it was not fun, nor healthy. I was reluctant to consider buying another gas powered mower and decided to give Greenworks a shot after conducting some research on the advances battery powered mowers had made. Plus I wanted to do my part for the environment.
I was not disappointed. This mower has performed as advertised and has been a joy to use. The feel is exactly the same as any regular push lawn mower, but I'll admit that I had to mentally remind myself that it was capable of doing the job. I was afraid of being too rough with it since it is battery powered and I equated that with something more delicate. It's proven to be just as durable and I've gotten over that mental block and use it just like I have previous lawn mowers.
Here are a few features that I really like. The padded handlebar is something miniscule to some, but is a really nice touch and goes a long way. I'm not a professional landscaper or neighborhood lawn-of-the-month award winner, but I've pushed enough lawn mowers in my 38 years to notice that comfort isn't always taken into consideration for push lawn mowers. Given the fact that the only place you come into contact with the machine is the handle, the padding really helps. If you have to cut your yard for more than 30 minutes, you'll definitely appreciate it, too.
Another feature that I like is how the engine automatically revs higher when it encounters thicker or taller patches of grass and then throttles down afterwards. The normal setting is more than enough to handle my yard, but when I need it, I'm happy to know the mower has it.
Starting the mower is easy with just two steps. Push and hold button, pull ignition bar. Simple. It's quiet and I'm not stuck inhaling exhaust fumes. The vertical storage feature is nice and not something you'd do with a gas engine. It helps to save room in my shed. Especially now that I've replaced the older mower.
The battery life is sufficient and doesn't take long to charge. I like how the battery has an indicator built into it to show how much charge it has.
Overall, I can't say enough good things about this lawn mower. It works and will get the job done. Great job Greenworks.

I'm very happy with this mower. It's my first electric yard tool and I'm pleasantly surprised by how light weight and easy to use it is. The battery charges quickly. Blade height adjustment is one easy lever, it's incredibly quiet and has good power.

This lawnmower is a game changer. It is light, easy to maneuver and the quietest mower I have ever owned. The fact that the battery can be moved effortlessly between Greenworks' products is a bonus. I can quickly transition from mowing to trimming with the same battery!! I cut my grass today and my wife did not know, that is how quiet it runs!!

I have to mow about a 1/4 acre and I have no problem with the battery running out of power. Someitme's I do have to go over the grass twice when it is thicker. I mostly have only used in the mulch configuration. I will be starting to use the rear bagger fairly soon and see if it cuts better with the bagger than mulching. If not, I will switch to the side chute and cut the clippings twice on the last pass. I really like this mower for the storage, no hassle of gas or oil, and that I can switch the battery between my weed eater and mower. Will probably buy Pro next time.

I got these mower a few weeks ago and love how quiet it is. I like how lite weight and easy it is to handle around my yard. The blade height is very easy to adjust, much easier than a typical gas mower and being able to store the mower upright is a huge space saver. I have not had any issues with the battery, but I only need to mow for about 30 minutes. I enjoy how the mower saves power when its cutting grass that doesn't require as much power. Overall, I really enjoy this mower.

Powerful and Quiet Lawn Mower
on June 10, 2017

I purchased this lawn mower about 3 months ago, and so far, so good. The main reason I purchased this mower was because of it's battery size (60 volt) and because it folds upright for storage (I have very limited garage space, and needed a lawn mower that can leave a small footprint).
I only mow about 900 sq ft (townhome front and back lawn), and this mower handles it easily and well, and only uses about half of it's battery power. I have encountered the feature that speeds up/slows down the blade speed, depending on height and thickness of the grass. It hasn't been a negative issue so far (and to be fair, I do appreciate the mower having smart capabilities to conserve and extend the battery life when needed), although I wish there was a way to override it, or manually select the blade speed when desired.
The mower is well designed, with the ability to lift/lower the deck height made very easy and simple, and the controls/ergonomics are fairly standard. I've only had the mower for a few months, so I can't speak to durability, although the components seem well made. The deck seems like its made of slightly thinner gage metal, but i don't see that being an issue with longevity. My biggest concern is how long the battery will keep a useful charge. And For the price point, I would expect the mower to have self propelled features, although I understand why it wouldn't, to save battery power.
Net-Net, the mower is a little more expensive than a gas mower which may have slightly more features. But I value the ability for this mower to fold and store manually, and it's just as powerful as it's gas powered counterparts while being significantly quieter.
Highly recommend, assuming the battery life doesn't suddenly degrade in an undue amount of time (I will be disappointed if it begins to hold less of a charge inside of three years of moderate use; moderate use defined as utilization once week during the spring/summer/fall, and storage during the winter).

Mower is quiet, cut quality not good in thick

I purchased this mower about a month ago. The mower is nice and quiet. Now that the Bermuda is getting thick I am having trouble with the cut quality. The mower blade speed stays at a slower speed until a point when the grass get thick it goes to a higher blade speed. Then it cuts good. This feature I assume is there to conserve battery power. The problem is before it goes to high the cut quality goes bad and I have to recut a lot of grass because of low blade speed in thicker grass. There should be an override switch to let the OPERATOR decide when the higher blade tip speed is needed. For this reason and battery performance I would not buy again.

Model 25302 has a "Power Save" feature this automatically adjusts the cutting speed of the blades to match the application to give the best possible cut while maximizing run time and battery life.
