The future is electric.

PROS:
I've only used mine only four times now so I can't talk about long-term durability. BUT--this mower is well-built, strong and quiet. It's nowhere near silent but it is much quieter than gas movers, much quieter than a passing motorcycle. The self-propelled control lets you set it for your own walking pace. All of the accessories fit well and seem well-made. Overall, it's very easy to use.
CONS:
The drive takes 2-3 seconds to slack off pushing once you release the control bar. Be aware of that and cut the drive before you try to make a U-turn.
My battery endurance is in the 30-40 minutes range, not 60 minutes. I use the drive on my sloping yard going uphill, and coast downhill to save battery. My mowable grass yard covers about 0.35 acre and I'm buying a second battery so I can finish in one pass.
Finally, it would really be handy if it had a reverse capability. I can see there might be safety concerns but it would sure come in handy.

Thank you for your detailed response. The run time will vary depending on the amp hour (Ah) of the battery being used and the condition of your lawn. A 2.0Ah battery will provide the least amount of run time at approximately 20 minutes and the 5.0Ah will provide up to 60 minutes of run time.

Excellent Mower!

This was my first electric mower and I LOVE it! I bought the mower this past spring and have been mowing with it almost weekly. It's light, easy to maneuver, cuts well, and has good battery life. It's so quiet that the neighbors can't hear the mower from inside their houses and I can listen to music or podcasts while mowing. The push button start is wonderful and no gas/oil/mess. The mower also folds down in minutes, enabling me to move it easily from one place to the next and for storage.
I mow three yards with it - one very small, one 1/3 acre, and one 1/2 acre. The two smaller yards I can mow and blow easily on a single battery charge. The 1/2 acre needs another 15 minutes of mowing time plus time for the blower. I wish the mower came with two 4.0 batteries and it would be perfect! The good thing I have found with only the one battery is it forces me to take a break which I sometimes need on hot days.
Bottom line is this is a good-to-great mower!

GREATEST LAWN MOWER EVER

i just bought this lawn mower and found it to be the best investment i could ever make. I've mowed a great deal of lawn with many other kinds of lawn mowersand in my seventy years believe me this does the job. I have St. Augustine grass and it is really and unbelieveablly thick 4" grass and hard to move with a regular standard lawn mower. But this lawn mower and it being self-propelled is great not one problem or hitche. I also bought the Greenwork battery operated blower and trimmer as well. these three items have made my mowing the front and back yard a whole lot easier and more comfortable. believe me you can't go wrong with this lawn mower,

Mowed well but I keep running out of juice

Mowed twice so far and each time I get 2/3-3/4 of the way done and I run out of power and have to recharge the battery. Not sure if I am getting 60 min on a fully charged battery. Cut is fine so far and I like adjusting the height of the blade. I am trying to buying a back up battery so I don’t have to wait hours for the battery to recharge again, or find a battery that lasts longer.

Better than I imagined

Do to my work schedule, cutting my lawn has been a pain. I cant mow too early or too late ( considerate of the neighbors ). I decided to try electric. This beats my 190cc troy built. It's almost comically quiet. Cuts great, almost an hour of run time without dying, really really smooth to operate. Almost therapeutic. Easy storage with zero mess. Looks like I'll be replacing my lawn equipment with greenworks products...

Love this mower

I purchased this about a month ago, and has already paid for it self. I was paying for someone to mow my lawn. I am an older female, and had a hard time starting a gas powered mower, pushing it, plus putting in gas, oil etc. It easily folds up and stores it in my garage. Having the throttle control and rear wheel drive make's it a joy to mow. Best purchase I have ever made!! Now just need some nicer grass.

Works Better Than Expected -- It's a Keeper

I have an average size city lot. I was a little hesitant from reading reviews, here and elsewhere, suggesting that the battery life was disappointed, but I am not disappointed. Last week, it did my lawn great. I forgot to charge when done. This week, it did about 80% of my lawn with the still uncharged battery. I have the 60v 5A battery that came with my self-propelled mower. I'm happy. I really can't think of anything I'd change about this mower.

Terrible terrible mower.

I bought the green works pro 60 volts. Said the battery would last up to an hour. I bought it. Charged the battery and got a solid 35 minutes out of it. Thought maybe it was the first charge and it would last longer. Well 5 days later and 7 mows I got the yard kind of done. I can't mow on the lowest setting because the motor kills right away. I have to use the 3rd from the bottom. I would need 5 batteries to do my entire yard and it's not that big. Really disappointed.

A great feature of the Greenworks 60-volt battery system is that the batteries are interchangeable, and one battery can be used on a wide range of garden tools. It is important to cut your lawn regularly and not allow the grass to reach a height of much over 3-4" in order to insure a proper cut. Grass has a grain and growing pattern that can vary greatly between varieties. Therefore, the directions in which you mow can affect how well you mow. It's worth noting, this battery is not shipped fully charged and we recommended to fully charge before first use to ensure that maximum run time can be achieved. This lithium-ion battery will not develop a memory and may be charged at any time.
