Extremely happy with this purchase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Cub Cadet Electric mower died last month after 4 years of hard use. I was actually very happy with that machine, but I must say that my new greenworks mower is a whole different level of awesome. Blown away by the quality and performance. My new Greenworks machine makes the Cub Cadet machine look like something from the dark ages. Could not be happier, at least for now, with my new machine.
Pros: Convenient, Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful

Do not buy this

Bought this back in April, dead battery after 6 uses. Battery shows 3 bars and yet its dead and flashing light on the charger. These batteries are horrible and I regret my purchase. I live on a very small lot less than 6k sq ft and i have a pretty big house so my lot is small. Grass in summer does not grow tall so you can cut every two to three weeks. I also leave my grass taller and yet new out of the box you cannot mow the front and back yard. In fact the mower decides it needs more power at random even if im just on the sidewalk(did a test to see) Also I do not get to use the self propel feature as that would surely make it last even less time. Im not cutting my grass short, im not using self propel, im mowing less than 45oo sq ft of yard after you factor in house footprint. I store and charge according to owners manual and this up to one acre mower cannot finish and drains both batteries dry. So you let them cool off for about an hour then charge and then go again. Its a joke. tried to use the cs chat and they cannot even spell our right. Please see "OUT" live agent hours below. SMH.

Hello Jrat.
We are sorry to hear about your experience with the Greenworks 60V 21" Self-Propelled Mower and its batteries. We understand how frustrating it must be to have issues so soon after purchase, especially on a small yard where you expected plenty of runtime.

As a first troubleshooting step, please try resetting the charger: unplug it for approximately 10 minutes, then plug it back in and reinsert the battery. Make sure the battery is firmly seated in the compartment—you should hear a distinct click or snap indicating proper placement.

Here are a few additional steps that often help:

Remove the battery and reseat it firmly in the charger to ensure full contact.

Let the battery cool in a well-ventilated area if the charger flashes red, even if it doesn’t feel hot.

Try charging with a different compatible battery, if available, to determine whether the issue is with the battery or the charger.

Inspect battery terminals for dirt or debris and clean gently if needed.

Typically, two 5.0Ah batteries provide up to 70 minutes of mowing under normal conditions, though runtime can vary with grass height, mowing frequency, and terrain. The mower’s automatic “power boost” feature can also cause it to ramp up unexpectedly, even on lighter resistance.

We also apologize for the spelling errors you encountered in chat support. That is not the experience we want for our customers, and your feedback has been shared with our team to improve training and accuracy.

If you have tried these steps and are still experiencing an issue, please start a Live chat at www.greenworkstools.com or call the Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. We would like the opportunity to work with you to find a solution. Please have the battery, charger, and mower with you during the call so we can perform the necessary troubleshooting steps.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to improve this experience for you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this lawnmower on the 17 this month. I had knee surgery on the 18 so I haven’t even taken it out the box yet. I’m excited to start using it. I couple of Greenworks tools and I like them that’s why I can’t wait to use the lawnmower.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just purchased! The unit is heavy, so I had to be careful taking it out of the box. Should have help removing. After reviewing instructions (yes, I'm a man and I follow directions.) , assembly was a cinch. With two batteries to charge, it took about 15 minutes each,. Batteries snapped into place and the unit was ready to go.

This is my first summer using this Greenworks mower. I absolutely hate it for 2 main reasons. First, you cannot back up the mower when trying to turn or just by backing up until the forward clutch disengages. You have to take your hands off the two gray handles way before you are ready to turn or pull the mower backward. It is quite the pain. Secondly, after every time I mow one strip of grass, the mower leaves a thin section of taller grass that it did not cut. I've changed blades, emptied the bag, change the speed, cleaned the underpart of the mower and everything else the company said I should try, with no better results. When you are all done, you have to re-do the entire yard again by going over the taller strips of uncut grass. My only solution that helps some is to mow only 6 to 8 inches only for each strip. Then you get the left over taller grass that is left from the previous strip. I think it has to do with the two wheels pushing down the grass and the grass comes back up after a few passes. Maybe I needed to purchase the 80 volt with more power to pull up all the grass on one pass. I hate mowing every time and would never recommend this mower to anyone.

Hello Ed Schollenberger.

We are very sorry to hear how frustrating your experience has been with this mower. The issues you describe with both the handling and the cutting quality can make mowing far more difficult than it should be, and we understand your disappointment.

With rear wheel self-propelled mowers, the drive system must disengage before the unit can roll freely backward, which can sometimes take a little practice to get used to. Releasing the gray drive levers fully before attempting to pull back usually helps reduce the resistance, but we understand this can still feel inconvenient.

We have a video that will show you how to operate your self-propelled mower. You can watch the video here (https://youtu.be/NUN1HvDgwrY).

Regarding the uncut strips of grass, this can sometimes happen if the grass is being pressed down by the wheels and springing back up after the mower passes. Keeping the blades sharpened, overlapping mowing rows by a few extra inches, and mowing on a slightly higher setting before lowering it for a finishing pass may improve results. That said, performance should still meet your expectations, and we do not want you to feel stuck.

If you continue to experience these issues, we would like the opportunity to troubleshoot further or look into additional support if needed. Please reach out to our team directly through the Greenworks website chat (www.greenworkstools.com) or by calling 1-888-90-WORKS (888-909-6757) so we can walk through solutions with you.

Minimally Propelled Mower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a small front lawn and decent sized back yard and I was able to mow both without recharging the battery. The mower is light and easy to push, however it is not very self propelled. Good mower but could probably find a better value with another brand.
