Just one mowing and I’m pleased with this tool. Easy to use controls, no pull-starting, no fumes, no spilling gas, no spark plugs, no changing oil.... Just pop in the batteries and go mow with a quiet, clean machine. I have a .3 acre lot. — The first battery emptied and the second one was left with a 50% charge when I was done.
Mower was easy to assemble. User documentation was good. I have been using this new mower for two weeks. I am mowing every three days. I live the self propelled capability. It takes me a little over one hour to mow my lawn. Never had a battery failure.
I just placed an order for the Pro 60V 21" Brushless Self Propelled Lawn Mower and after reading some of the reviews its apparent we have a long way to go on having tools operating on batteries. It appears battery technology is lacking and I should be prepare on returning the battery operated lawnmower and just stay with my gas driven type mower until such time we have better batteries. Will see what experience I will have with this product and write a follow up review.

Hello Big Dawg,
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the run time of this battery when used in this lawn mower. It is important to adjust your mowing techniques to make the most out of the battery life, but it goes without saying that that the harder the unit works, the quicker the battery drains. Here are a few mowing tips to help achieve the optimal run time. 1) When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings. 2) Only mow 1/3 of the total grass length at a time - no more. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months. 3) Mow when the grass is dry. As this is an electric unit, mowing wet/damp grass is a safety issue. However, ensuring the grass is dry will also help the grass cut cleanly and discharge appropriately. Wet/damp grass carries more weight and will mostly stick to the blade/motor shaft and will not appropriately discharge or cut easily. 4) Make sure the battery is cool before use. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. We hope these tips will help! If not, we would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please submit an email using the customer contact page on our website or give us a call at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.
I waited until I had used the unit enough to be sure. It does all that I need for my relatively small lot, and fully lasts with one battery for the 35-40 minutes that I need to mow it. I used the Hi-lift blade for initial mowing of the taller grass and have now mowed the entire lot to the desired height with the regular blade. It is relatively much quieter than my previous gas mower. Its mostly metal body seems sturdy and is easily stored. The push button start and battery indicator are just great. I am happy to not have a self propelled unit as I mow forward and back, mulching and blowing the cuttings to one side of the lawns. Charging the battery seems to take no more than an hour and the battery holds the charge for the one to two weeks between the mowing that I have done. The headlights are, so far, superfluous but obviously does not drain the battery much. In all, I couldn't be happier.
First the things that I wish I could change. > For me assembly was difficult for the handle. The side with the cable was assembled poorly and almost impossible to slide into the metal part of the handle. Once I got it in the cable obstructed the hole where the bolt to secure it goes and I have been unable to move it. Greenworks told me to remove the handle and try again, NO! > The rear drive wheels are hard and pretty slick so the slightest tough lump or slight hole leaves the rear wheels spinning instead of gripping and pushing through. > There are no intermediate height settings, only full inch increments. If you need 2.5" or 3.5" cut length you won't find it here. > It has online warranty registration and I can't get it registered because I bought it direct, had to convert the email invoice to a pdf, but then the online registration rejects the off as too large despite it being about 1/3rd smaller than they say the maximum size is.
OK, maybe the gripes are petty, and I am living with them and I give the mower 4 stars for being great otherwise. I'll work around my dislikes. If two of the above items were fixed I probably would give it 5 stars.
I got this mower a week ago, and I look for excuses to cut the grass. I bought this based on the reliability of the 80V Greenworks snow blower, trimmer and hand held blower I have. I had another manufacturer’s push 58V mower, and this self propelled one is better in all aspects. Very comfortable handle position, two batteries make using it a dream. The cut is very impressive without using the turbo mode. Sucks up clippings and leaves for a nice clean lawn. I also like the one handle height adjustment as I keep my front and rear yards at different heights. It’s also nice that it comes with a high lift blade for fall when the leaves fall. I am so happy I decided on this 21 inch mower, love the way it folds for storage freeing up shed space. I highly recommend this mower for anyone looking to switch from gas. Waiting on delivery of the new 700 CFM 60 v blower.
