I bought the Greenworks Pro 60V 25" self-propelled mower after using a Kobalt 80V Max 21" mower for several years. My Kobalt isn't self-propelled and I have 2 acres of natural meadow in rural Arizona with native bunchgrasses so it's quite a chore to mow. I paid the extra money for the wider cut and the self-propelled Greenworks, but I'm sorry to say the new mower is pretty ineffective on tall grasses. Here are some pros and cons. Pros: The Greenworks Pro 60V comes with two 4-AMP-hr batteries! My Kobalt came with one 2-AMP-hr battery. So this extra juice is significant. It comes almost fully assembled, including the blades. Only the mower handle needs to be assembled. Easy to follow instructions. Solidly built. Propel speed levers easy to use and adjust. Quiet. Cons: To get the wider cut (25") the mower has two small side-by-side blades instead of one big blade. This may work fine for traditional lawns but it does not cut tall grasses in natural meadows. I'm not sure why. Perhaps some engineer out there can explain it. No matter how many times I run back and forth over a tall clump of bunchgrass, the Greenworks mower leaves behind about 20% of the tall stems. My original Kobalt 80V Max with one 21" blade cuts tall grasses much more efficiently. One pass forward and one pass backward usually gets 95% of the grass stems. The Greenworks is less powerful than the Kobalt, even on the power boost setting, so if you have really thick grass, it might not be strong enough. The inability of this Greenworks machine to meet my needs is largely the cause of my 3 star review. But my use case is pretty unusual. If you have a traditional lawn or a natural meadow with short grasses less than 18" tall, this machine will probably do fine.

I have nearly half an acre to mow on varied terrain with some tight spaces and this mower is more than capable. Light and quiet, couldn't be happier. Space for 2 batteries, gets a lot done.
Fantastic product. Actually exceeded my expectations. Powerful, qulet, easy to push and navigate, and clean, even cuts. We have approx 6/10 of acre. One battery was more than enough to power through thick St Augustine grass. The 25” cut saves time too. All in all, fantastic product. Heartily endorse.
I'm an 66-year-old woman who's grown weary of hiring cowboys to mow the lawn. In addition to the expense, they're not always as thorough or careful as I'd like them to be. Our lawn is about a half acre, mostly flat, so I wanted to try and do it myself. I don't mind getting some exercise, but I don't want to hurt myself, so I knew I wanted a self-propelled push mower. I also knew I didn't want a stinky gas engine. After doing the research, I chose this mower. I'm so glad I did. It's easy to operate and does a fantastic job. The lawn has never looked better! It's so cool that one battery automatically switches over to the other when needed. I have done the entire lawn and haven't run out of juice yet. This is a great mower. You're gonna love it!
For those of you who might need to buy a new lawn mower in the future, I received my new battery operated Greenworks 60v 25" Pro self propelled lawn mower a few months ago. I took advantage of the fall discounts. I was originally looking for a gasoline powered lawn mower, but stumbled upon a review of electric lawn mowers. It piqued my interest, and after doing some more research on the subject, I finally decided on this Greenworks model.
I mowed my entire 1/3 acre (plus) lawn with it, and when finished, the battery indicator showed that I still had about 25% battery life left. That's pretty impressive. When one battery drains all the way, the second battery takes over. It has two 60 volt batteries, and yes, it came with a battery charger capable of charging both batteries at the same time :-) Only about 30 minutes to charge both batteries. You can also charge one battery while using the other. The only down time would be a few moments to swap batteries.
The grass in some areas was pretty thick, and it didn't labor at all. If by chance the grass is too tall in certain areas, there is a turbo button that boosts the power. Of course, the battery will discharge quicker as a result...but I didn't need it, so it did not affect me. The self propelled feature can be turned on or off with a simple lever control, and it has a sliding adjustment for speed similar to a light dimmer. It can move very slowly (turtle) or at a brisk pace (hare). Without the use of the drive system, it pushes fairly easily since it is lighter than a gasoline mower. The drive has plenty of torque, so mowing uphill was effortless. Another couple of advantages I was happy with is that when I go to store it during the winter months, I can simply hang it on the wall or fold it up and store in a corner.....and when I go to use it months later, it will start right up in the spring! No stale gasoline or oil to worry about.
It's now mid November, and leaves are beginning to fall from the trees. I've used it a few times to mulch the leaves, and it did a great job of mulching. So far I am very happy with this machine. It's a real game changer in lieu of using a gasoline powered mower.
It was time to mow the yard covered with a couple of inches of maple leaves. I decided to try the mulching with no bagging or side chute. This mower powered through the lawns and left a fine mulch of ground up leaves. I'm never going beck to gas again!
Had my doubts but very impressed! Cuts well even in long wet grass. Plenty of battery life to complete the job. Mower is quiet, lightweight but durable. I actually get excited now to cut the grass!
