Nice machine, but comes up short in a couple ways

Motor only draws from one battery, and when depleted requires you to remove it before it will draw on the other one. The mower is heavy, and difficult to maneuver in corners and other tight places. But generally, all the benefits of my non-self-propelled model.

Hello Richard V,

Thank you for providing feedback. Model (2535002-VK) features auto switchover for longer runtime meaning there should be no need to remove the battery from the battery compartment for this model, this feature would depend on which lawn mower the user has. We would truly be interested in hearing more about the current lawn mower you own. We urge you to contact customer care at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS), and we will be happy to speak to you in greater detail. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and look forward to speaking to you directly.

Great mower wish battery lasted longer

This is my first electric mower; so far so good. The mower shipped quickly and was easy to assemble. I have a large yard and the grass was fairly long and still damp after a lot of spring rain; the mower got the job done. The battery lasts about an hour to an hour and a half on a full charge. It typically takes me about 3-4 hours to do my entire lawn, so I have to stop once or twice, but the battery recharged in about an hour. I would recommend this mower.

I'm going to try to make this quick. My girl and I got a new house and I miss doing yard work so I wanted to handle that... first mow I had my parents lawn mower just cause it was so long. It was gas powered but, left all the clippings even with the catch bag everywhere. I decided to buy electric and went with the top of the line craftsman except it wasn't self propelled. The grass is so thick it would die after 2 feet and took me hour and a half. I was going to give up on electric because I thought it wouldn't be strong enough for my thick grass but did some research and gave green works a try. My god was I ever wrong and I'm glad I gave it a chance! I don't know why ppl complain about battery life I can use one 60v for my entire lawn and it fills up the bag 2 and a half times! Another thing, I only see clippings when I know the bag is full... this mower is so smooth and it gets me across the hills with ease because of the self propelled capability. I will always write reviews when they are warranted and my god they are! Bought the blower too cause I though I would need it and it's crazy powerful but now I use it for dirt not clippings cause I don't have any loose clippings!! I have used it 3 times now and love it! I am going to stick with and 60v tool I need getting the trimmer once it's back in stock. I am so glad I did this and I am telling anyone who is doubting it... TRY IT!! GET IT!! YOU WONT REGRET IT! Greenworks you have a lifetime customer. I was a craftsman man but since sears has shutdown I don't know who is making their product. Love you greenworks!

Cut quality suffers with electric mowers!

I bought this last year, cutting my lawn for a season with it. Two things buyers should know about: In an effort to maximize battery life, greenworks and other electric mower manufacturers have reduced the lift on the mower blades. There is less suction to lift up the grass to cut it and/or bag it. Even with the high lift blade, there is a lot less lift than a gas mower. So what happened to my lawn over time is, the grass gets bent over sideways instead of properly cut to length. It's especially noticeable this spring, it looks like a comb-over. In addition, when the lawn is the slightest bit damp in the morning, the grass clippings rapidly collect on the inside of the deck, so I need to clean the deck after every cut. I was hoping to enjoy a quieter and less polluting alternative to gas, but I'm going back to a gas mower and also one that is self-propelled!!

Hello Andy1976,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with the cutting performance with your lawn mower. When the lawn is being cut uneven, this can indicate a few different things. The first being that the lawn itself is rough or uneven. However, if this is not the case then it is possible that the grass is too tall, or the cutting height is set too low for the type of grass. Try raising the cutting height and reduce walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months.
We hope these tips will help. If you would like to carry on the conversation or have any warranty needs, please contact Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934.

Great mower. Good battery life and very nice cut. I have about 10,000 square foot of lawn and it uses about one battery per cut.

Extremely easy to use. Last long enough for me to mow my front and back yard on one charge. Usually still have one bar left once I’m done.
