I have had the mower for about 5 weeks love it so far it shocks me every time i mow how well it works as you dont get the audio feedback of a gas mower.
Had it 2 years. Great mower, I have a 1/2 acre, I do back of yard using one battery, charge it while I start the front, and a water break, When the other battery runs out I swap it with the charged one. I just saw they have a riding electric. May look into it for next year, looks great.
I bought my first home and needed all the dang tools. I have a small yard and among other reasons, a gas mower wouldn’t go through the gas fast enough to justify the purchase. Plus I wanted a better option. This mower has been great - no less than any gas mower I’ve used (and I started mowing lawns at 8) but also much quieter. It also has an automatic “surge” mode when it detects the grass is longer or thick, it will power up to blow through it; saving battery power and energy. The battery is more than enough for my 1500 sqft yard and hilly terrain; I can get two mows off of one charge. I also have the string trimmer (weed wacker) too and it is also excellent. All things considered, this is way more quiet, environmentally friendly, and far easier to use than a gas powered mower.
A good replacement for a noisy, smelly, gas hungry John Deere

It works as expected. We had a John Deere similar mower and hated the noise and smell and gasoline. The Deere had a 54 inch cut which was nice, but with all the other downsides, the Greenworks is far better. Batteries last a long time — after mowing 2 acres, we had 65% left. The mower is very quiet with mainly just the sound of the blades turning — and it runs well. It is easy to turn. We found the low speed setting for the blades was fine, but the high speed for the mower speed worked best for us.
Was hesitant about getting a battery operated lawnmower since my St. Augustine lawn has some pretty thick areas. On regular blade speed and high self propelled speed the mower runs right through the lawn with no problems. Once self propelled kicks in I basically just have to guide it as I walk behind it without having to push at all. Mowing during the hot summer days is so much better easier with the Greenworks mower. The two 4.0amp batteries that came with the mover plus the 2.5amp I can get through the whole yard which is just under 3/4 acre.
Have only used our new mower once but already it is more comfortable than our 20 year old gas mower. It may be a little lighter but for sure the higher position of the handle makes it easier to push. Our lawn isn't huge but it takes 20 minutes or so, and it still had about 1\2 its charge left afterwards. The single lever height adjustment is pretty slick, as is the folding handle. Not sure the benefit of the LED headlamps, but I may have to try some night mowing.
