Why two different 24V batteries

I have 4 greenworks tools all 24V and one is not compatible. Three use 29842 batteries and one uses BAM709 and they are not compatible with the tools or charger. Why in the world are there two different 24V systems. I did not know that when I bought the fourth tool and now I can’t charge BAM709 battery. To me this is unacceptable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Battery is great. The power washer I bought it for is not - it broke after 35 minutes of use. Every other tool from Greenworks has been excellent.

Received this battery and charged it up it makes using the leaf blower a joy can do the whole yard without recharging EXCELLENT PRODUCT
