DO NOT BUY

I purchased this trimmer, but the auto feeding doesn’t work, so consequently, I have to continuously stop, take the head apart, and manually pull out the string to keep trimming. This is a waste of a tremendous amount of time and string. This is the absolute worst. Don’t buy it.

Hello AWFUL,

Thank you for sharing your experience. The auto-feed feature works by releasing 1/4" of line each time the unit starts/stops. To see if this feature is working for you simply release the start trigger 10 and see if the line length changes. When you are using the trimmer, we do advise to release the start trigger periodically to advance additional line. This will be needed more frequently if you are using this around the fence or hard surfaces. Please ensure that the guard is always on the unit while in operation. This will prevent the line from extending too far out and breaking off at a large length, which will cause it to go back inside the spool housing and cause a jam. We have share a video below showing how to use the auto-feed, this is a different unit but the feature will be similar.

Response from greenworkstools.comBy GreenworksSeptember 11, 2024
Hello Niecey.
Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear of the troubles you are experiencing with the Greenworks 24V Trimmer.
Here are a few reasons you may be expecting this issue of the trimmer stopping when you cut.

1. The guard is not attached to the machine. Remove the battery pack and attach the guard to the machine.
2. Heavy cutting line is used. Use only with the nylon cutting line of 0.065" (1.65 mm) diameter.
3. The battery pack or machine is too hot. A. Cool the battery pack until its function returns to normal. B. Cool the machine for approximately 10 minutes.
4. The battery pack is disconnected from the tool. Install the battery pack again.
5. The battery pack is depleted. Charge the battery pack.

We have also linked our Operator Guide below for this unit, we hope with these tips video will assist in a more enjoyable user experience. Should they not yield results contact Greenworks by Live Chat on www.greenworkstools.com or by phone on 1-888-909-6757.

Worst Warranty Registration Process Ever
on June 19, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The devil himself could not create a worse warranty registration process. They prompt you to take a picture of of the QR code on the box, but of course that does not convey any information. You still need to type the product number and serial number. Next, you must upload a copy of your receipt. No problem, you bought it online so just upload a PDF copy of your email. Foolish you! they only accept picture files for the upload, not PDFs. What were you thinking??? So after wasting time on your phone, you end up moving to your desktop, transcribing all of the info again, and then doing a screen capture of your email. Sounds so 2024 technology - they must have an AI helping behind the scenes! No matter how well this leaf blower works, I'll always remember the horrible product registration process!

Okay for price, but auto-line feed fails
on May 22, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is so very frustrating that the auto-feed spool does not work. Every minute or so I have to take the spool apart and feed out more line by hand. This is my second machine (acquired because the first was stolen but I still had the battery and charger pack and also the mower, which is great) and it is the same problem with the auto-feed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
Response from greenworkstools.comBy GreenworksMay 22, 2024
Hello Albion,
We are sorry for your experience. The machine has an auto-feed head. If the cutting line does not automatically advance, it can be tangled or empty. 1. Start the machine and keep 3s. Release the trigger until the machine totally stops. 2. Repeat the above step until you can hear the line-cutting noise. The line will extend approximately 0.4 in. with each stop and start of the switch trigger until the line reaches the cutoff blade and the cut-off blade cuts the excess length. Do not pull or release the trigger too fast. Users can also, remove the cutting line from the spool and rewind it
The line might be twisted around the spool.
Hope these suggestion help. If you need to speak to us in more detail, please, contact us by Chat on www.greenworkstools.com or by phone at 1-888-909-6757.
