Used it twice, wasn’t able to finish mowing the front yard. Battery dies in less than 15 minutes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Ssoo, Thanks for sharing your experience. Runtime that short is definitely frustrating, especially with a combo kit like this. For the 48V (24V x2) 17" mower in model CK24L4222, the mower relies on both 24V batteries working together, so performance can drop quickly if one battery is undercharged, out of balance, or not fully seated. A few things to check: make sure both 4.0Ah batteries are fully charged, cooled, and inserted securely before use, as the system will only perform as well as the weaker battery. If the grass is thick, wet, or overgrown, that can significantly increase power draw, try raising the deck height for the first pass and lowering it gradually to reduce load. Also, avoid running at maximum load continuously and check that the blade is sharp and the underside of the deck is clean, since buildup can reduce efficiency and shorten runtime. It can also help to rotate the batteries between tools and note if one drains faster than the other, which may indicate a battery imbalance. If you are consistently getting under 15 minutes in normal, dry mowing conditions after these steps, there may be an issue with one of the batteries, and reaching out to support would be the best next step for further evaluation. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, or by calling 1-888-909-6757.

Dies halfway thru the lawn and I have a smallish lawn need another set of batteries
Response from greenworkstools.comBy Greenworks, May 26, 2026
Hello Mattmaga. We are sorry to hear the runtime is not meeting your expectations, that can definitely be frustrating, especially on a smaller lawn. With the Greenworks 48V (24V x2) system, the mower draws power from both 24V batteries at the same time, which provides more power but can also reduce overall runtime compared to using a single battery tool. Factors like thicker grass, lower cutting height, and faster walking pace can also impact how quickly the batteries drain. For best results, we recommend: - Fully charging both batteries before use - Mowing regularly to avoid cutting thick or overgrown grass - Raising the deck height slightly for less resistance Adding an additional set of 24V batteries is a good solution if you need extended runtime, allowing you to swap and finish without interruption. Greenworks succes support can verify compatibility and help make sure you are using the correct battery platform so everything works interchangeably as intended, if you have any questions or warranty needs please contact Greenworks either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, or by calling 1-888-909-6757.

Hello Yesenia. We are sorry to hear the runtime did not meet your expectations on your first use. With the Greenworks 48V (24V x2) system, both batteries are used together to power the mower, and performance can vary significantly based on grass conditions and cutting settings. Thick, wet, or overgrown grass, as well as a lower cutting height, can increase power draw and reduce runtime more quickly than expected. For best results, we recommend mowing more frequently to avoid heavy buildup, raising the deck height slightly for the first pass, and ensuring both batteries are fully charged and properly seated before use. Walking speed can also impact efficiency, slower, steady passes help the mower maintain optimal performance. If your lawn is small but you are still experiencing unusually short runtime under normal conditions, our success team can help verify battery performance and ensure everything is operating as intended. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, or by calling 1-888-909-6757.

Battery sucks. I can’t even finish my front yard..

Hi C214. Thank you for your feedback. The Greenworks 48V (24V x 2) 17" Push Cordless Lawn Mower, 320CFM Leaf Blower and 12" String Trimmer Combo Kit includes 2 x 24V 4.0Ah batteries. The runtime varies depending on the tool being used and the workload placed on the unit during operation. Generally, the higher the amp-hour (Ah) rating of the battery, the longer the runtime it can provide. As a result, battery runtime may vary based on the specific battery and application. Please note that estimated runtime is typically provided on the product page for each unit. These estimates may be based on factors such as operating time, acreage covered, number of cuts, or other usage variables. Actual runtime can vary depending on the load applied to the battery, such as higher power settings or Turbo Mode, as well as the type of tool being operated, such as a self-propelled lawn mower versus a leaf blower. For extended runtime, we recommend using a higher amp-hour (Ah) battery within the same voltage platform. Should you have any new question or further concerns, please contact us directly at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) to speak with an agent or start a chat and we will be happy to assist. Thank you for continuing to choose Greenworks Tools!

I have had my set for about 4 years now and it does a good job. My only issue is the weed eater string does not advance, I have to pull the line out . Finding replacement parts is not easy on this sight.. I'm so glad I bought an extra set of batteries. I have around an acre with crappy weed grass coverage and it takes both sets of batteries to finish.
Pros: Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe

Hi Sammie Sam. Thank you for your review. A Greenworks 24V 4.0Ah battery can yield up to 40 minutes of runtime and a charge time of 120 minutes. Please note runtime may vary based on the load applied to the battery (i.e. higher settings/turbo mode), and the type of unit being operated (i.e. self-propel lawn mower/leaf blower). The higher the ampere-hour (Ah) rating is, the more run time the battery has to offer. As a result, battery run time may vary depending on specific version used. If you wish to discuss any troubleshooting, warranty assistance, questions, or other concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly via chat or call 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS).
