Replaced original 18 inch chain that stretched too much. New chain fit perfectly. Bought 4 because shipping charge was zero. Arrived in less than one week.
I bought this saw last year for light duty work around the yard - cutting branches off trees and stuff that should well be within range of a light duty battery operated saw. As a retired fireman, I was used to gas powered units but also knew their capabilities. This unit was useless, wouldn't cut thru a 1" branch, instead would just burn the hell out of it. And that was brand new out of the box. Save your money, buy a big boy chainsaw, or just do what I did, put it in the shed, forget about it, and grab a handsaw. Should have returned it right away....but got caught up in life.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Greg1684,
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the issues you have encountered with this product. Make sure that the blade is sharp, clean and free of pitch. A dull blade will make it hard to cut and the slower the feed rate of the saw, the more friction against the wood and the greater the likelihood of marks. Before putting a saw away after cutting particularly after cutting messy timber it should always be cleaned, side plate off and cleaned underneath, chain bar cleaned and chain sharpened. We would be interested in hearing more about this issue. Please submit an email using the customer contact page on our website or give us a call at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS).
I bought this to clear the land for our first home. Having grown up around chainsaws, the idea of no fumes, quick stop, no gas-oil mixture - all that really appealed to me. I bought one extra battery, and with two batteries I can cut for an hour - when I need a break anyway. With the 18" bar I cut everything on my property. Easy to run, easy to maintain, and makes you feel smart for getting ahead of the battery curve. For residential work, this is all you need.
I put this saw through a tough test right out of the box. Cutting and ripping knotty creek alder tree stumps that I had fallen this past spring. Some of these stumps were up to 16" across.
The saw really impressed with its power and torque. It never once bogged down and completed every cut I asked it too. Oh, and it was one of the quietest saws I've ever operated. Huge plus.
Only cons were the chain (ridiculously high rakers that needed to filed by the second sharpening) and the battery. These were tough cuts and the 2.0 A/H batteries were quickly drained or overheated. Granted, this was probably about as tough a test for the battery as it could get in normal use: continuous cutting due to a stack of stumps, tough cuts. During regular operation I would imagine I would get much longer runtimes, even with the smaller battery size.
I'm excited to get out with the saw this spring with a larger capacity battery to see how the saw handles more standard felling and bucking operations.
