All power! Just the tool you need for the application at hand. Has a sizable bar and doesn't bind when taking down bigger trees like other electric chainsaws.
I moved into a home with a wood burning fireplace. Nearby there are plenty of fallen trees available. I am tired of mixing gas and oil and working on saws that are difficult to start. Hence I thought I would give the Greenworks 16" 80v saw a try. I am very pleased. It easily cut through 12" oak logs. The battery lasted long enough to fill my 5' x 8' trailer although if you intend to cut more I recommend a second battery. It is a treat to press a button and instantly you are cutting logs. Changing the chain is easier than previous saws I have owned.
I bought this 2 months ago and it is so much nicer quieter cleaner, about same weight as gas ,last longer then expected, I did buy 2nd battery due to my acre's,. trim up over grown areas, it will cut thick stumps between 20-30 inches.
Works great. Light weight and well balanced. Cuts quickly . very easy to use. Perfect for pruning branches on small ornamental trees. For example pussywillows, lilacs, weeping cherry . also perfect for smaller low hanging branches from everyday trees
I have had my saw a month and love it! It cuts great and fits good in your hand. Its more powerful than I thought it would be. I am satisfied with the battery life in relation to its amp hours. It rechargers surprisingly quick. Plain and simply I am very happy with this tool! It meets my needs. All of the Greenworks staff that I have spoken to has been very courteous and friendly. I have and will continue to recommend this saw to numerous people.
I purchased this item because I am very satisfied with the blower and weed-hacker- This uses the same batteries and once I commit to a battery system that's the direction I go- Already not having to unwind 200' of cord has made the purchase worth it-
Tool should function much better than it does. Chain has come off a few times and support walked me through some troubleshooting. I completed the trouble shooting by saying the chain came off again but then it held for 4-5 minutes. I tried it again and it failed.

Hello Zach 5809,
We are sorry to hear that you have experienced an issue with the chain not staying on. We see that you have been in contact, and our Customer Care team are doing our best to work towards a solution. We would be interested in gathering more details regarding this experience so that we can appropriately address your concern. Please reach out to our team directly at 1-888-909-6757 and provide your customer id# at the beginning of the call so we can take a closer look into your recent chat with us. In the meantime, we’d like to offer some troubleshooting suggestions you may find helpful. If the chain is continuously coming off while in use, it could be due to one of the reasons below. Please check the following. • Make sure the adjusting block is properly engaged in the bar cut-out and that the chain has been properly tensioned prior to use. When properly tensioned the chain should feel snug but still pull away just enough to slide a dime between the bar and chain. • Ensure that you are using a compatible chain that matches the figures listed in your owner’s manual (drive links, gauge, and pitch). • Verify that the chain wheel is undamaged and that all parts are accounted for. Always refer to the instructions in your manual for replacing the chain to verify which parts your specific model should have. • Verify that the bar and chain are not damaged. Replace the bar if: The groove is not fit with the height of the drive links (which must never touch the bottom). The inside of the guide bar is worn and make the chain lean to one side. • New chains will stretch and must be tensioned more often while in use. *DO NOT TENSION A CHAIN AFTER YOU HAVE FINSHED USING THE TOOL. HOT METAL EXPANDS. IF THE CHAIN IS TENSIONED WHEN HOT, THEN ALLOWED TO COOL, THE CONTRACTING METAL COULD POTENTIALLY DAMAGE THE CHAIN, THE BAR AND EVEN THE UNIT. WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT USE (OR AT LEAST UNTIL COOLED) BEFORE TENSIONING*
If all the parts are present, undamaged, and correctly assembled and proper tensioning procedure is followed then this issue will be fixed 100% of the time. This process can should be repeated more than once if issues persist to ensure that no steps have been overlooked.
