[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall a solid tool. Cuts perfectly well. Fairly easy assemble. Not too heavy and easy to maneuver. Two areas for improvement. Throttle needs ability operate at a lower speed. Trigger can provide variable power, but there are circumstances where less power/chain speed would be safer that is not possible with this saw. Also wish the automatic oiler was adjustable. Does not put enough oil for my preference. But for the price, this was still a good buy considering I already had batteries from previous tool purchases. Oh, and this particular version came with THREE chains which was a nice bonus.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Quiet, Effective, Powerful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I Baught a 4 tine tiller 2 years ago and it it is still going strong I have a 50 x250 garden and I use it to keep the weeds down during the summer bought a second battery and made the mistake of buying the smaller one it does last near as long. But like the products.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Environmentally Safe, Powerful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned several gas-powered chainsaws over the years and one corded electric chainsaw. This saw surpasses them all. You can't beat the power to weight ratio, cordless convenience and the low maintenance. For general homeowner use this saw cannot be beat.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fantastic chainsaw. I have owned several gas powered chainsaws and a corded electric saw. Nothing beats the saw for convenience and low maintenance.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works good when the chain is on. If you make horizontal cuts, chain pops off. I've tried tight and looser chain settings and it doesn't matter, chain WILL pop off on horizontal cuts.
The worst part is once the chain pops, it contacts the main drive gear and deforms the kinks so it doesn't fit in bar. Complete garbage. I've filed down every bottom link to get it to fit bar and it works, until chain pops off again. Then it's back to square one.
If the chain, bar, and main gear all worked perfectly together, this would be a 4 star review. This unit cuts great for vertical cuts. It does not have an electrical brake and keeps turning one you let off trigger. Unless GW finds an answer to my chain pop issues, I'm going to send it back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Stoked-on-spokes. Thank you for sharing your experience. New chains tend to stretch, and we recommend checking the chain tension frequently and tension as required. The chain is correctly tension when there is no sag on the underside of the guide bar and when the chain is snug but can be turned by hand without binding. A chain tension while warm may be too tight upon cooling. Check the "cold tension" before next use. Here is a video showing how to tension the chain (https://youtu.be/H9bYDwptiCk).
