This is a pretty good product. Relatively straightforward to operate off the wall as a conventional thermostat, and pretty good with Wi-Fi. It would have been better if the control allowed automatic switching between heating and cooling based on settings and ambient temperatures. It really only has 3 modes: Cool, Heat, and Off. Automatic would be a nice addition. Also, it is supposed to recognize whether you are home or away, but I haven't had a real chance to confirm whether it recognizes the presence of my cell phone or not. And, I'm not sure if our two zone system confused the phone app about "Home" or "Away" status. Overall, a very good Wi-Fi thermostat which could be improved to great with some software updates.
Gives us the ability to monitor our home temp from 1500 miles away … it’s critical that you have a/c working properly thru the summer months in Florida … this device gives us the piece of mind while we summer up north
The app is terrible, there's almost no reason for it to exist. You can't use it to set the schedule, you have to use the wall unit for that. The geo-fencing option just turns the entire unit off instead of heating/cooling to a particular temperature, which is pretty pointless. It lets you control the temp remotely but that really should be the bare minimum for these things.
I have truly been enjoying this thermostat. I know sounds weird to even say that. But when I'm hot and downstairs away from it, I just pull out my phone and adjust it. Setting it up was super easy, and often this is not the case with WiFi connected devices. I've only used it for a few weeks but I'm already loving it.
This is thee third unit our installers have put in. It seems all T6 thermostats, in our experience so far, have issues with being able to control a heat pump with oil backup source. The latest is the wifi model. Also a fail!
Thermostat is attractive and easy to use, especially from the mobile app. The same functions are available on the unit, but the menu structure is a bit more confusing. My issue is that my previous Honeywell thermostat, although not WiFi capable, allowed for programming of fan modes. On this unit, I have to manually turn circulate on and off in the mornings or afternoons when I want to move the air around.
