Operating problems with new Ruud central systems.

Two T6 Wi-Fi Honeywell thermostats were provided by installation company supporting our two newly installed Rudd central AC/Heat systems. While the thermostats's AC control worked fine, the heating setup would not work. Multiple hours with several technicians, expert phone support, etc could not set up the thermostat heat programming to work properly. Two replacement Honeywell thermostats were subsequently tried, but these were also unable to operate the systems. Finally the installation company installed Nest thermostats and the Nest thermostats immediately properly worked with the newly installed systems. I liked the Honeywell interface and the Honeywell App support. However, the Honeywell thermostats unfortunately did not seem to function with our new Rudd systems. I have used Honeywell thermostats in the past and have been quite satisfied. However, this time the Honeywell thermostats seemed to be incompatible.

It is very difficult to change any program settings and to toggle between temporary/permanent temperature ‘holds’ from the interface itself. The app is more user friendly for those features. But if I am standing in front of the device, it is a nuisance to have to get my phone. The interface should be better designed. Originally only my spouse downloaded the app, which should be sufficient for a family. But because the interface is so difficult to change programs, it forced me to download the app and then he had to grant me permission to access it. What a pain.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent, easy to use, very convenient. I don't have to get out of bed to adjust the temp and if I forget to adjust before I leave, I can adjust it from anywhere in the world. I love it.

Not sire if the app or thermostat, i wish there were more set points for schedule. Also, i wish it were more obvious to switch heating systems, heat pump vs nat gas.
