The firmware/software for this product is not very stable. There are many 'WiFi Disconnects' and I know our internal WiFi is quite stable. Additionally, the fact that you can not control the thermostat from a Windows PC is not ideal. Honeywell only provides an app for Android and iPhone. We use an external temperature sensor with one of the thermostats to control a dual fuel configuration (we have 4 Honeywell stats in total). The thermostat doesn't show external temperature or we heat source it is calling for .... very weak!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to connect wifi, nice display, plenty of options. Only downfall I see is the temp shown is actually warmer than it really is. Haven’t found a way to calibrate them, so knowing this I simply adjust my temperatures. Decent unit.

It is decent programmable thermostat. It does not however offer automatic motion detection or learns like the Nest thermostat
