Happy with these Honeywell T6 Pro thermostats. The app setup was relatively easy. If I had one complaint about the thermostats it would be that the seem to be very sensitive to temperature changes, more so than the old school Honeywell thermostats they replaced. Sensitive is good but it causes the system to kick on a lot more than it used to. The T6’s are fairly reliable when it comes to WiFi connection, they’ve dropped off the network a few times but seem to come back up on their own. Overall these are a good value.
Elderly and handicapped the WiFi capability of this device has made a world of difference for us. From the safety of my chair we can adjust the schedule or temperature without having to get up get my cane and walk to the device. I have noticed it is keeping the temperature more accurate too. We can't wait to see if it starts saving money; which was what we had originally purchased it for!!
The size of the T6 screen is great, giving lots of information at a glance. I prefer this size over the smaller-screen T9 or T10. Unfortunately, it has no color text or screen savers (like the T9 or T10). It also holds WiFi connectivity just fine, consistently over the last month and a half. Unfortunately, it handles only 2.4Ghz and is a beast to set up, not only because it requires an external device (such as a phone) to do it, but if that phone runs on a 5Ghz network, Airplane Mode must be turned on to allow the setup to proceed. The setup also does not initially recognize the type of furnace it is connected to, e.g., it sees a two-stage furnace as single-stage, and you must go through a ton of technical prompts to reconfigure the thermostat to see the furnace as two-stage. Also, the Honeywell Home app is far from smart. The app is consistently one day behind in its Runtime stats (e.g., Thursday's stats are actually Wednesday's), and the Weather almost never auto-updates (e.g., you must, most of the time, physically tap the Weather part of the screen to get updated weather info). In summary, I wish Honeywell would update the T6 with a color screen, screen savers, 5Ghz connectivity, and furnace recognition (I have a townhouse and do not need the room-monitoring bells and whistles of the T9 or T10), and also update the Honeywell Home app to be truly smart.
Set it and forget it. Great for efficient, green and cost-effective heating/cooling. The remote control features provide added flexibility and convenience.
