I don't care for themostat when it was installed the temperature was permanently set at 63 degrees. I live in the Northeast where the temperature get very cold I had that 63 degrees number changed by installer however heat comes for a few minutes then it is off again not allowing my house to heat up.

Not a color screen. My prior thermostat was a Carrier. The Carrier thermostat had a setting cool to x-temp and heat to x-temp. This thermostat can only be set to cool to x-temp or heat to x-temp

Good for the operations it has however it needs to be able to do AUTO mode to switch automatically between heat and cold, at present i am either uncertain how to setup this mode on this device or it does not natively have it.

The Wifi connection is nice. I'm very surprised that there isn't an auto setting where the AC or Heat will come on as necessary. During this time of year when the temp swings are a little more dramatic, I have to set the thermostat to heat at night and in the midafternoon turn it back to AC. The thermostat at my previous residence had an auto setting and I didn't have to worry with it once I had the schedule set.

If you don’t plan on letting your local electricity provider control the temperature in your house, it might make sense to look elsewhere. If you register the device it wants access to your location via your phone at all times (bizarre, right?). If you don’t register the device it spams a message in your screen endlessly saying to register it and until you do you’ll never be able to just glance at it to tell the temp/settings, instead having to clear the spam message to get there.

It's awesome to be able to set/adjust temperature when I'm in the basement or far side of house from where the thermostat is setting. I'm still learning about setting temps for different times of day

At first I felt that it was hard to finish the setup since the thermostat was installed by someone else. But just check your e-mail and follow the instructions. Don’t jump directly to the App, first agree with terms and follow the email instructions In general, it’s easy to deal with this thermostat. Just download the App and you will see it.
