Im just getting into the smart home appliance idea. I have had a digital thermostat in the past. It does seem easy to adjust the heat on my phone and change the schedule for the furance to follow then it dows on the themostat

Forget the Nest. Honeywell is the way to go.

This thermostat will not connect to the Honeywell app even after 2 calls to tech support. It also lacks a feature to auto switch between heat and AC like others.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This thermostat was defective and had to be replaced twice. The first time it had to be replaced it just totally died after 3 months from the date of installation. It was replaced. Then, the replacement "lost connection" with our wifi network within a month, and could not be reconnected. This second replacement had to be replaced by a third T6. We're now on our third replacement of this thermostate after about 3 weeks. Now, we're hoping/praying it will not die on us again. Also, the software is clugey and difficult to set up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
