WiFi card is bad; spent many hours on the phone going through same set up steps to finally get to that conclusion. Waiting for a replacement thermostat to try again. Can set temp the old school way for now.
The thermostats are working well and the app is easy to use on my phone once I got them all set up, but the prompts and instructions on the app were not easy to follow. Setting up the thermostats requires one to switch connections from the internet Wifi network to the thermostat Wifi networks for each thermostat and this was not clearly explained in the instructions on the app. The app tells you to disconnect from the internet Wifi and then connect to the thermostat Wifi and then gives you an error message about disconnected from the internet without telling you what to do next. It took me at least three calls to Honeywell Tech Support to finally get all of the thermostats connected and I had to set up a tablet with the app in order to work through the instructions with Tech Support because I couldn't be on the phone and go to Airline mode at the same time for obvious reasons. It would be very helpful to explain the process before one gets started so that if you need to call Tech Support, you don't have to start all over again with a different device.
I am very happy with this purchase. When it was first installed with my new furnace my wifi was down so I tried to program it on the unit itself. It did not work very well. Once I was able to download the app on my phone it was a piece of cake (much easier to control the unit on your phone). I have not tried to control the unit from afar, so I can't comment on that.
