I'd never had bought this if I had read the reviews beforehand. The thermostat itself works fine, but getting the app (Android in my case) working took a couple of hours and fiddling with my wifi router. If you aren't a router fiddler, and understand the phrase "2.4 Ghz band and not the 5 Ghz band", this may not be for you. After googling and trying several things, the app finally connected to the termostat, for some unknown reason, and it's been working since then. We did have one incident where what the app was showing was NOT what the thermostat screen was showing, and trying to change the temperature setting with the app didn't work, but we haven't seen that again. WARNING: It seems that the app connects NOT to the thermostat itself, but to a server somewhere on the internet, because we can read and change the settings from the app even when we are not home! I presume that the thermostat is connecting to that same server, which means its is exposed, at least in some way, to the internet. And this means someone might conceivably HACK this thing. That's a little scary, and if I ever think it has happened, I'll rip it out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We had a VERY difficult time setting up and troubleshooting the T6 with our wifi - which I'm told is not common - Honeywell engineers finally manually connected for us - since then it's worked great and we're very happy we have it.
