Great but it broke after 16 months

I bought a Honeywell as my last Honeywell programable thermostat lasted 27 years. I liked the ability to control the new thermostat remotely. Sadly it broke after 15 months. On Easter Sunday morning. I thought that it would be easy to replace like for like but that is a challenge. Thermostats have to be 100% reliable otherwise it is hard to go on vacation.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a very nice thermostat with all the features most people need. It is easy to use and program. I have found only one thing I wish they would improve and that is the back light. I would like to have it on all the time and you can enable that function but even on the lowest brightness setting it’s way to bright for nighttime. The app shows a slider to control brightness but it appears to jump in increments of 5. Not helpful.

I miss my ecobee, which showed the weather on the screen. My kids would check it all the time. I guess this one is only wifi so it can be controlled by an app. I would not have chosen this brand, it was installed by the heating and cooling company for free after they accidentally broke my ecobee.
