The T6 is an excellent Thermostat that is very intuitive and easy to use. On the other hand, I cannot give it a 5 star rating because of bugs in the HoneyWellHome iPhone app. In order to get accurate temperature readings from the thermostat, don't leave the app running on your phone in the background and then switch to the app when you want to modify the thermostat. When doing this the app doesn't always get the correct information from the thermostat. I have found a workaround by always exiting the HoneyWellHome app. Do not leave it running in the background on your iPhone. Whenever I want to adjust the thermostat, I invoke the app, do my adjustment, and then exit the app. This ensures that the app will get the correct information from the thermostat every time. Please fix this app bug and then I will change the review from 4 to 5 stars.
Thermostat was installed by the contractor when we purchased a new system. Thermostat has NO AUTO MODE to change between ac and heat. In Ohio at times you need ac during the day and heat at night and with current technology you would think this would be an option on a digital thermostat that is internet connected, it is not. The purpose of getting a SMART thermostat is to not have to constantly changed your thermostat from ac to heat multiple times a day. I would not recommend you get this thermostat.
This thermostat was included in our brand new builder home. We have only had it for 1 1/2 when it has already gone dead. Unfortunate because we are having to replace the front and have done research to find out this is common with this product.
The initial wifi and account setup was akward compared to the other two major brands I have owned at other homes, and I miss the easy web interface others offer. Note you must have a smart device to set this up, and if you attempt to deviate from instructions it cancels the setup. If it says "turn airplane mode on, we'll don't just turn on airplane mode, you have to click inside the app to do it in a nonuntuitive way. The unit functions fine and I've had no technical difficulties, i just find the setup and interface workflow frustrating.
