We have this thermostat in a beach condo we rent during summer months. We like that we can configure temperature ranges to protect our hvac system from folks that crank ac down to the 50s and lock access via a pin. The loss of functionality with prior version is that lock mode now disables access to the mode heat/ac/off where as prior veraion lockout allowed mode changes. Ok we decided as we rent during summer only so ac is all that is really required and last one failed at just over a year.

This app is SO EASY to use! I've had other thermostat apps (we've moved several times in the past two years) and this is, by far, the very best. As soon as you touch it, it activates. Absolutely no waiting. Other apps took forever to load the info. I use it several times/day as our home has a lot of a/c and heating units.

Not sure about all these bad reviews, weird, mine works as intended as far as I can tell. Had a new gas heater installed almost 2 yrs ago by a professional, I did the wifi config myself, I don't recall it being overly complex and it works as long as the wifi in my house is operational. I'm not some tech genius and if anything networking is my weakness, so I have to wonder about some of these bad reviews.
