Ignores programmed wake time

No matter what wake time I program, the heat comes on at at 5:00. I set it for 6:30 on all days. away and home are off. at 5:00 heat changes from sleep temp to wake temp. If I get up, set it to a different manual temp, then cancel, it switches back to sleep time. Came with my new home; now I have to buy a new thermostat.
