Fairly easy to set up and a good accurate thermostat. Easy to read display and I can control the thermostat on my beach house when I am away. What keeps this thermostat from being five stars is there is no automatic change over! Good thing it works with wi-fi where I can change it manually, or it would be useless.
When it works it is great but it frequently disconnects itself from the WiFi. I find it very frustrating. It is so hard to get it cones Ted and then a few days later I get a message that says it lost its connection and I have to start all over again. We have a “smart” home and this is the only item that has trouble with the WiFi. I love it though when it works right.
I'm happy with this product. It works very well but the wait times for Resideo's customer support are beyond awful. Also, there are no instructions for using geofencing with the mobile app and, believe me, they're really needed -- they should be available and handed to every customer at the time of installation. I implemented this as best as I could but nothing told me that everyone in the household needs to have an account. Then, when geofencing didn't work properly, I then found this crucial fact on the website. However, while the website had this, otherwise it had really limited information. So, I tried to contact support by phone multiple times -- waits of over an hour. I tried to contact support by chat -- nobody responded for a really long time -- finally decided to wait as long as it took for a response. Eventually, someone responded and he was friendly and knowledgeable. However, for a company the size of Resideo, that's ridiculous -- guys, staff your customer support! By the way, with the geofencing feature, there is no easy way to shift from the Away to Home settings if the thermostat does not get the message that I've crossed the geofence line. It doesn't happen often but, when it does, it's a problem -- that capability needs to be added to the mobile app.
