We had this installed to replace an older one apparently damaged by a battery leak. I like the fact that this model does not have batteries and that it can be set remotely via an app or on the unit itself. So far, so good!

The primary benefit of a “smart” thermostat should be programmability and this thermostat cannot be programmed to change the temperature on its own except for four pre-set schedule options that you cannot change and cannot add to. Personally, the “schedule” option is useless if I can’t make my own schedule. My utility company has a window of time during which we are supposed to consciously use less energy. I thought I would be able to schedule this thermostat to allow for pre-cooling my home prior to raising the temp for that window. I was wrong.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

At first I was worried that this unit would not work as promised but after it was installed the unit was and is outstanding. Not only was I able to control all functions of heating and cooling right from my smart phone (iPhone X) but it also easily connected to my google home. Very simple to use too...no technical terms or rocket science certificate required...I love this unit!
