T6 ProSmart won't finish remote set-up!

Just had a new furnace/central air installed with new Honeywell T6 ProSmart thermostat. I have a Samsung 8+ and I can't get the remote set-up to finish. Gets to a certain point, then app sends me back to the beginning. Called Tech Support...forget it. Told me to have someone come here and use their cell to get thermostat registered to Honeywell server. Once that's done, I'll be able to control thermostat from my phone. I'm getting rid of this and getting a Nest. So disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does what I want a smart thermostat to do. The Honeywell app is good and Alexa integration is good. Would like fan control built into the Alexa skill and it would be perfect. The only other thing to note is cycles vs swing value: Honeywell uses cycle rate and it takes some reading, trial and error, but it does a similar job.
