You set the temps you want for heat and cool and then you never have to worry about changing the thermostat from heat to cool and back to heat with the auto change feature on. It’s wi-fi so you can control the thermostat from your phone. I like the away, home, and sleep modes.
Connecting the first time is a bear. I would love to be able to set a high and a low that the thermostat is smart enough to switch between heat and cold.
OK, But my previousT5 would have served me better.

It's a nice enough thermostat, and you need it if you really want WiFi capability. But, I liked my T5 better as it was a little more intuitive to set up. The manuals for both models leave a bit to be desired. I think the whole scenario of a technician installing the thermostat in a home, then leaving it up to the owner to program is not a good one for this type of device, as you need some level of Heat Pump configuration knowledge to program it; something an average homeowner typically doesn't have.
On a schedule, my T6 just won't keep the house temperature within my range setting. I obviously had it programmed wrong somehow, but for the life of me nothing about my problem was covered in the manual. That covered mostlyset-up information for the Technician, a little vague on the programming aspect. As it was I now have it OFF the Wifi connection completely and in manual (unscheduled) mode; I had to set one AC temp and one Heat temp, and it seems to be keeping the inside temperature fine that way; NOT fully-functional by any means. I never could get it to work on a schedule of any sort. Setting it between 70 (cooling) and 68 (for heat) it would drop to 64 at night and would be in the Cool mode for some reason, instead of switching over to Heat mode to deliver 68 degrees inside. The Installation manual was no help; all pretty vague/generic info. I finally found how to disable the Wifi, uninstall my T6 app, and set it manually from other sources I found on the web; Not from Honeywell.
A tolerable situation, but I’m not a delighted customer.
Very easy to install until you get to the setup then the real fun starts . I am a professional hvac technician and have installed many of these and no two are the same setup (some easy or impossible)tech support is great though
We've only had our Honeywell thermostat for about 2 weeks so I cannot say anything about it longevity but so far it has been easy to operate and holds temperatures exactly where I set them.
